Question about Prestige
When do rides stop being old? I read a thread somewhere eventually they would go into a "reviving" stage and then "classic." This hasn't seemed to happen yet....

It depends on the difficulty you're playing at. At higher difficultly the age happens faster. I too have not seen a reviving or classic stage, but I haven't spent a ton of time on one park either. I have seen other people comment it takes as long as 30 years to reach classic, and I've seen others say 25 years, so that is probably the difference in difficulty I'm guessing.

Where do you see your prestige stage status. All i see is how many stars.

If you are still playing through the basic scenarios, the aging system is disabled.

Once you get into challenge mode or sandbox, the "ride age" will be right below the number of stars.

I have a successful Challenge Park on Harder difficulty and it takes about 24 years from "New" to reach "Classic".

Does refurbishment help at all with the process? Seems like it should at least help with the ride "looking old."

No it doesn't. Only helps with reliability so it will take longer to break down.

Bummer. I like the idea behind people getting "bored" with a ride, but I don't like the way it's implemented at all.

I just wish the "New" lasted an extra couple of years and the time it takes to become "Classic" was cut by 25% to 50% which would help fight the urge of replacing an old ride with the exact same one and reduce bordom on higher difficulty levels. Sitting around with fast forward on max for 24 years is not really fun.

Yeah. Between that and not enough scenarios, the game doesn't excite me as much as I'd hoped. I love the detail and customization, for sure, and even challenge mode, like prestige mode, has a good idea behind it but doesn't really change the fact that there aren't enough "goals/objectives" in the game. Oh, well. Don't get me wrong. I still really enjoy it.

You can now turn "Prestige" to Off in the game settings in case anybody doesn't know.

Im on year 90 on the harder setting and havent noticed this at all. Is it only for parks made after the update?

Yes. If you have an old challenge park from prior to the Winter Update you will not have the new Age mechanics.

At least on medium difficulty, keeping "old" rides running while making a profit on the park as a well is totally viable if you switch to a free ride / ~$5 coasters / large entrance fee setup. You do make more profit though if you just replace the ride and charge on a per ride basis.
