Tips for Cavernous Coasters
I'm an "okay" coaster builder, and have built (on this map) some great ones. But I can't seem to come even close to the gold medal here (earning $3500 per month for 3 months). Any tips from the park managers out there who are great?

I don't care what you say about a challenge, or this or that. This scenario is terrible. I can't find one scenario from the rct1, 2 or 3 that is this difficult, and infuriating. I've exploited several mechanics of several games to win, and that's fine. This is a simulation, why do I have to exploit gameplay quirks to win, and why is this scenario still broken. Even the scenario in RCT2 where you had to have I think 3500 or 4500 guests by year 4 was not this hard, and that was the most difficult of that game. Once I exploited the game, I won, so that's not fun.

I run my own business and love simulation games, it sharpens my skills, all this level did was reward me for exploiting buggy code. Mmmmm mmmmm gaming in the 2010s. I wish I could close my business, kick everyone out, and be rewarded with 20k when I re-opened. What a joke.

Thanks to the people who posted pro tips. Without you, this is an unbeatable scenario.

Edit: P.S. It is utter BS that it takes your peeps 20 days to actually enter the park. This is one of the worst simulation scenarios in one of the best simulation games ever.

This "Cavernous Coasters" Career is probably the absolute hardest to complete. I have started it twice and made it to bronze star on both. But then always end up without any way to earn enough cash to stay in the red. I had begun to realize with its limitation to just 600 guests there just aren't enough to sustain a park with more than a few rides. I had closed a couple. But still could not recover. I had come to the thought of deleting old rides and building new ones too...but had not tried it since I stopped being in the black in my earnings. so I assumed I'd have no money to build with. But maybe if I concentrate everyone into a few solid earners I can recover enough to build that last damn coaster. :)

Thanks for the advice.

Thank you.

There are tweaks you can make to the above - I finished mine in Year 1, August.

- By removing Radius, you get about $4000 in the bank
- This means you can build Bumping Derby straight away, starting off with three rides
- Research Hats (I charged $14 per hat)
- When you have enough money, build The Cube
- Research ATM. Build when you can as peeps will run out of money for the coaster.
- Build coaster (I used "Cavern Coaster" by Herp Derp as it was $8000 - the cheapest of pre-made ones. Charged something like $25 / $27)

By changing ride sequences you can up the price. This means you get the dosh quicker.
I used:

KICKFLIP - default sequence. $16 / 616 prestige

HYPERSPIN - clockwise x4. $15 / 507 prestige

BUMPER - default sequence. $10 / 355 prestige

CUBE - forward flip x11. $27 / 1014 prestige

Carlos: you are a master at fleecing customers for every penny they have (even if they dont like it) .... demolished everything in my park except the coaster, and built as you suggested ... first month, everyone complaining about prices, profits down from 3k to 600, second month, still complaining, but park rep increased, and I have queues for a couple of my overpriced rides, net about 1800, everyone still complaining about prices. third month, all the rides have full queus, I net about 6k, they are still complaining about prices (but they are paying anyway), 4th month I'm pulling in over 8k and they are still complaining ... unfortunately, next month my coaster broke and I dropped below the 3.5k required, but I just accelarated time, and the next three months hit the target.
respect sir, and thank you most kindly.

Wow Carlos 6 years later.. and your plan is still golden :) thank you so much for the help this is what I changed 6 years later

- Build Hyperspin and price it 8 USD
- Build Toilet 1 USD and First Aid with 2 USD
- Staff: 1 engineer 1 (no upgrade) janitor 2 upgrades
- I had to download a coaster from the Steam Workshop - "Anubis 1" changed the price from 27 to 20 USD and got the gold :)
