Any advice for dealing with aging rides?
I'm so close to completing this last challenge of 3 consecuitive months of $3500 profit, but now that I got the profit up my rides are getting old and nobody wants to go on them... Is there anything I can do? Do I just demolish them and put in new rides? Seems like a good game mechanic in theory, but I'm finding it to just be annoying.

You can lower the ride price or (probably better) just rebuild it. You could wait for the ride to become "classic", but by the time that happens the ride would have "unpaid" for itself in profit losses. The aging system wasn't a very well thought out mechanic and many people (myself included) aren't really enjoying it. Hopefully Frontier does something before they run their own game into the ground with a poorly implemented mechanic. :steamsad:

The just need to shorten the "Old" time period... It stays listed as Old for longer than it should be.. Need to cut the time in half, at least.

I was finally able to complete the gold star by closing all the old rides that were losing money, and closing shops that were losing money. I don't know if it was just something with that campaign scenario or what, but the economics were behaving very strangely. I would research and build a brand new thrill ride and no people would go on it. Then I found it was because nobody had any money left, but they refused to use the atm's. They would just continue to wander around the park. Glad that ones over with. It was the 2nd scenario in the new update if you're wondering.

This is happening to me at the moment.
No one uses ATM, many dont have money to spend, many dont buy from food shops.

I had the same problem. People staying in the park, not spending money, not leaving, not going to the atm. What i did was sell all my attractions. Close the park. Rebuild 4 flat rides, and 2 coasters on pauze. Reopend the park. And made like 9, 8, 7 k per month respectively, and made the golden star. I had to destroy 7 classic rides for that.

Notice that that scenario is limited to max 600 guests. That and your rides getting old so you can't charge that much makes it more difficult. I also suggest two coasters and only 4 profitable flat ride. The two caosters being key to be built pretty much the same month so they stay new and very profitable. I was able to get gold in year 2 that way and not have to wait 10+ years to get classic rides.

I was happy to have more of a challenge in these scenarios. I failed first time out on cavernous. Well pplayed, Frontier.

They should make it so refurbrishing the ride fixes the aging problem.

Kinda the point of refurbrishing irl.

I like the new "aging" system in concept, but I agree that it needs some balancing. A little longer to become old, and maybe people don't avoid it like the plague when it's old. I also don't see refurbishing rides doing anything at all.

there just needs to be a renew ride button.. that just rebuys it.. without the hassle of actualy knocking it down and rebuying it. the refurbish is fine for just keeping it well maintained.. but having a renew button would sort out a lot of the hassle of old unprofitable rides.

It would still be an artificial time and money sink band-aided onto the game for the more gullible players to eat up as "challenge", though. Because they mistake any form of inconvenience as depth.

So while a straight rebuy button would make things not AS stupid as they are now? We'd still be left with stupid.

Agreed timeframe is way too short to get old and vice verca for going classic.
Also instead of peeps not riding old rides, it should just maybe increase the fear level of the ride and maybe decrease the fun, until it hits classic at that point you'd be "refunded" half of those increases and decreases.

Also on a side note, trying to beat the caverns level is a pretty simple task, just dont try and build a nice park. I beat the level easily by just building 3 coasters, 1 drinks stand and 1 toilet. 1 janitor, 1 mechanic, rides set to 10 min inspections. I raked in about 8k per month.
I spent a full day trying to beat that level "normaly" then realised trying to have a good park isn't the way to go and just forced everyone onto 3 high paying rides with next to no park mainantance fees

I could not finish the winter updates last career because even if I build a rollercoaster with the exact right stats the game just ignores it, so the silver star doesn't pop up. The gold star one is just totally impossible to be reached by the decay. I always need to rebuild my rides before I can build enough to reach the income the scenario asks for. Did anyone ever manage to finish it and how?

for that rollercoaster I just made a prebuilt one forget the name, it's stats were almost right for the objective but fear was too low, so i edited the track and raised it just a little bit just before the loop and got the star

I completed them all for this update, many times if it's not giving you the coaster achievement then either you just need to create path & ques, test the ride, and open it. Or you in fact don't meet the requirements, for instance if it requires 5.0 fear, you actually need 5.1 fear.

I'm also on board with the "refurbishing" adding to your prestige and age levels. That is pretty much the whole point of refurbishing. You buy a refurbished computer, and it's practically brand new with maybe some very minor flaws.
