Does scenery matter for anything other than queues?
I don't like how cluttered things get when trying to get 100% scenery ratings for queues so I was going to put most of it underground (to get the rating) and only put stuff aboveground that I find appealing. I can do this around my queues just fine, but should I also be doing this under the ride itself or does that not matter?

I just build a coaster station aroud the basic coaster.. that's useully enough.. and for flat rides, if there que goes past a shop you've made or near another coaster (with a station built) they get there 100% without doing a thing. Rides also need senery or you'll find that as they age they won;t break even eventually.
Guest in general like to be around nice sensery.. they are more likely to spend money and stay in a park that has these things.

So I should put scenery around the ride and not just at the queues and shops?

Ah well, time to load up on hundreds of underground flowers!

Scenery around the rides attract more guests to the ride, also scenery in general makes your park more appealing thus attracting more guests to your park. Place them everywhere, but surely around rides/shops will help you save some money since it'll help the park and the ride/shop.

They affect:
-Ride's Prestige (which attracts guests to the ride)
-Queue Scenery Rating (which makes guest don't mind the line, and attracts guests to the ride)
-Park Scenery Rating (which makes your entire park more attractive to guests)

actually the loaction of the scenery in relation to the track effects the rating ect.. what it is also effects it to some extent.. put a load of flowers underground and they won't be close enough to the track to effect it. this only works on cues, becasue the path is right next to the ground,

In RCT 3 having a track go really close to something notched up the exitment rating and adding animated scenery near the track added to the rides stats.

Ergh. Okay then. Thanks for the info. I'll test that animated scenery by the track thing too.

100% queue rating does matter, but the new prestige system now makes100% queue rating still worthless for your prestige value.

As the new prestige system basically only cares about extra scenery. Not ride quality or queue rating (Queue rating is also heaily skewed by how close to the actual line scenery is. I've got some blueprinted scenery setups for whem I'm in a hurry that will give me high Queue% if I put it directly beside the line, but notably less if I put it next to or behind the ride itself).

One of my bigger standout examples is how I'm able to lazily build a flat ride that can only hold 12 customers, has a 15+ minute queue time, and is LOSING money every month... 3+ Stars prestige easy. Because I built it near pre-existing scenic forest hillsides.

Meanwhile, the stuff built at the same time which I actually put EFFORT into? 100% queue rating, popular, pleasant profits, all the signs of a "High quality ride"... 1 star prestige.

You SHOULD go for 100% queue rating, as it is still expected of you. But it won't do nearly as much as it should. As the queue rating system (Which made sense) is now stacked on top of the incredibly poorly thought out and implemented Prestige/Age system.

EDIT: Oh right, bonus. Only coasters and tracked rides will list the overall "Ride scenery" rating, in their special test results tabs. No such visible statistic for flat rides.

Yea it's kind of stupid. I love the game, they did an amazing job. But I find myself placing the "animated jester" blueprint or whatever it's called next to a lot of ride ques because it's an instant 100%.
