If you haven't, it's like Vulkan or DirectX 12 but Apple developed it first way before either of those two. In fact it's the reason everybody suddenly jumped on the low overhead API hype train.
It's so hilarious how ignorant your average "PC master race" kid is.
Metal is an API for mobile gaming, not full blown computer games... Also, Mantle (AMD's low overhead API) had been regularly implemented in 2013 (a year before Metal was first introduced in iOS 8).
I love how you're calling out someone on their ignorance yet have no clue what you're talking about yourself.
Aplogies, couldn't remember whatit was.
And by "regularly" you mean exactly 2 games?
I mean i understand that people may prefer OSX, but why pay stupid money for an inferior product?
Build a PC get OSX and a find a cheap copy of windows 7 or 8.1 and dual boot. Doing all that will net you a better performance PC with superior cooling and a longer lifespan and 2 OS's, even after paying through the nose for 2 operating systems and building the PC it will still be cheaper than buying an apple product.
I'm gonna give you a very simple example, I have a MacBook Pro for school work, I use it to read, white and research, why the ♥♥♥♥ do I need a GTX980M in there? Why not use integrated graphics which is plenty fast enough for what I do, but I also get 10 hour battery life instead of 3?
And also no I'm not paying more for an inferiour product, it's about the right price. There is no other laptop that has similar features for significantly less amount of money. And by features I don't mean specs, some of them are specs but not all:
- all metal build, no flimsy plastic
- roughly the same dimensions
- all PCI-E NVME SSD, no cheap SATA drives.
- backlit keyboard
- 10 hour actual battery life, not advertised battery life
- high resolution IPS display, and I mena higher than 1080p, sRGB calibrated.
- large trackpad, honestly no windows laptop has such good trackpad, but I'll accept big and responsive, or touchscreen.
- zero fan noise doing productivity work
I mean even if you had all of those, no Windows laptop has as good looking interiours or as good an OS for work, but I'll let that go, just find me a laptop with all of those features, and is also more than 10% cheaper than any of the Macbooks. Maybe I'll consider it when I decide to upgrade.
Before you ask, yes I also built my own desktop gaming PC with fully custom water cooling loop so I kinda know what those are. And yes it's way cheaper than an equivalent Mac Pro but again, you're missing the point, it's not about specs.
For gaming purposes. I understand why people would choose a mac book pro for work, ive had this argument before and seen the benefits.
We are talking specifically for gaming here. Why would any one for a primary purpose buy a mac etc etc as i mention above.
I'm not a fan of laptop gaming either, but i dont constantly travel and i cant exactly game at work either, plus i work in an engineering environment so having a cheap plastic laptop is preferable to something more expensive that cannot be serviced/repaired by myself lol
