Can someone please help with paths and queues?

As the topic states, I am having a terrible time putting down paths and queues. If i understand it correctly, a queue goes to the entrance of a ride and you use paths leading from the exits.

Where I am having the most trouble is in placing queues. Every time I try to connect a queue to a ride it tells me something about "the queue setup would be invavlid". This isn't an intermittent problem, it happens EVERY TIME. I've watched countless videos and I don't see anyone else having this problem, so I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong, but can't figure out what it is.

I've had the game since release day and can't even open a park because the queues won't connect. It happen on ride I've built and things I've downloaded from the workhop.

Please help, I have far too many hours played to get a refund but I can't even play until this is fixed.

I dont know what you are doing so here are some tips:
Make normal paths from the park entrance going in the direction of the ride.
Place the ride and place an entrance and an exit of the ride.
Place the queue with its beginning at the entrance to the ride. The queue doesnt need to be very long. Just make a few meters to get started and connect it with a normal path.
The exit has to be connencted with a normal path.

Are you trying to place queues all over the park instead of normal paths? Are you making the queues too long? Did you place an entrance to the ride?

The only thing I could think of is you are building your queues from the path to the entrance when you should be building them from the entrance to the path.

got to balance money and passenger loads, along with timing for minimum or maximum wait. tweak until that ride is working good

Where are the "ride entrance" and "ride exit" pieces located? I have searched all the props etc and cannot find them.

Select the ride. In the new ride window, on the far left is a checklist (it only appears on rides that arent connected to the paths yet). Select place entrance / place exit.

I found it, thank you. It's not very intuitive, that's for sure. Not much in this game is, the camera controls and pathing need a lot of work.

^^^This. If you build from the path toward the entrance, it will say it's invalid. Always start the queue at the entrance spot and work toward connecting it to the path.

This is not the case for me. I do typically start at the entrance and work towards the path, but I can and have done it starting the queue from the path and then working towards and connecting to the entrance of the ride, and it works flawlessly.
I can honestly say I don't recall ever once seeing a message about an invalid queue being placed.

I actually had the same problem. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I couldn't connect the path to the damn ride! It was driving me INSANE!!!

Then I realised I had the "path" selected and not the "queue" in the bottom left of the menu... :facepalm:
