How long /interesting is the "campaign" mode?
I like games like this, I don't think i necessarily look for a lot of challenge but I'd like some guidance for my park building. So how big part of the game is the campaign?

There are 4 campaign characters based on different entertainers in the game each with 3 scenarios to play with various objectives. Some have already prebuilt rides that give you a starting point. Some dont, they are not a great challenge if you intend to fully develop them but they will require some thought.

Challenege mode sets you off with limited cash and research to complete on a blank slate map. Sandbox is a blank slate with everything unlocked and no cash to worry about. Hope this helps.

There are a few hints in the campaign, how to customize the buildings. With every theme I played, I tried to build similiar custom theme shops and save them for my challenge or sandbox mode later on.

Now I'm playing mostly Challenge Mode. But I'm playing with my mind to play the "campaign" again. Because I was missing alot of Details in the first and second theme. I was more focused on placing boring prebuild stuffs on a flat land. When I was playing the Sci-Fi Theme, I started looking at the prebuild stuffs closely to pick up some details and copy it for other buildings.

But I hate it that I can't use the terraforming tool in all themes. That's actually my favorite part of the game. So I gave up on campaign and started playing challenge mode.

Thanks guys, sorry I didnt reply sooner, I kind of didn't get a notification (or missed it). Jacknm2 yeah that was the info I was looking for. I might wait for a discount, since I'm not really looking for customizing the rides too muhc, just wanna have some light challenge and zone out.j

TLDR; well worth the $45 simply based on the amount of time (50+ hrs) I've put into the game already just completing the campagin mode challenges.

I feel the same way. Sometimes I get bored of placing the scenery, I have found quite a few blueprints in the workshop of various sizes and themes and I use those mostly to get some scenery down. I do NOT spend a ton of time decorating or customizing (even though that's what this game is perfect for). I like the tycoon aspect of games [like this] much more than the creativity part, and I've spent over 50 hours so far in this game. The first 1 or 2 hours were in a Challenge mode map just to check things out quickly, then I switched to the campaign and started from the beginning there, I have 2 scenarios left still after 50+ hours and haven't even touched Challenge or Sandbox modes yet.

Thanks for your perspective. The thurst of the steam reviews was that "the tycoon aspect is too simple" and the game is "mainly for decorating". So I'm not looking for too much of a challenge on this one but I like a guided experience instead of simply "make your own fun". I consider picking it up! Currently im trying F4 over family share but I feel theres too much **** to pick up.

Well the campaign objectives are things like; Earn $2,000 per month profit -- Have 600 guests in your park --- Build 4 rides ---- Reach 800 Park Rating --
things like that, which will often progress for each medal (i.e. $2k profit for Bronze, $4k for Silver, and $6k for gold, 600guests / 800 guests / 1200 guests). Then it's up to you how to reach them, which rides you build and such. The campaign does have some pre-built rides and shops on every map, and each character follows a different theme. You can use them as a starting point to build from.
And I wanted to mention I do often find myself doing some detailed scenery. As I learn more techniques I guess you could say (by watching how youtubers decorate their queues for quick easy ideas) it gets funner and easier, and less tedious.
