After which you check the file integrity (library>planet coaster properties > local files > check intergrity) and try relaunching planet coaster.
If this still doesn't help, try reverting your video card driver back to an older version which does work.
Hope this helps!
I also tried to reinstall steam with the newest version. Nothing happened.
I'm not sure if this would work again, because by using the previous graphics driver the program was running only as a background process without a chance to switch it to the foreground. o.O
Planet Coaster will not start up - Planet Coaster does not start at all, an Error message mentioning api-ms-win-crt-(...).dll is shown in some cases.

This error comes up on some systems when some Windows updates are missing. This will cause the an installer for the Visual C++ redistributable (an essential requirement to play) to fail and cause the problem.
Please check for updates on your computer as described here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3067639
After this has completed, simply re-run the installers found in the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planet Coaster\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015
If this does not resolve this problem in your case, please create a ticket and let us know. As with all technical issues, a Dxdiag system report will be very helpful in understanding the situation.
If this does not work, open a ticket at frontier.

Just checked up to date Windows 10 Pro 64bit, i5 4690k, and HD6950's in Crossfire. In process of re installing..
unfortunately i've got the same problem.
I've installed all the new windows update as of today, i've reinstalled Steam (as someone somewhere else suggested) and no matter where i launch planet coaster from it allways gives me the message.
I've contacted the Frontier support team but maybe you guys can help me out quicker.
frontier doesn’t monitor these forums. there lots of people at the PC forums. You’ll probably get answers a lot quicker. forums.planetcoaster.com I wasn’t sure if u went on the forums and asked them or opened a support ticket w/ frontier. Support tickets r answered within 24 hrs.
