Many Guests are Trapped in the Park
Hi everyone.

I have a sandbox park that I've been working on for months, and it's now become quite large, with an average of about 10,800 guests at any given time. (We won't talk about the frame rate.)

My problem is that, within the past week, I've suddenly started getting a message every few minutes saying that "Many Guests are Trapped in the Park". Unfortunately, it provides no means to identify where those guests are. I've now spent hours examining all of the paths, ride entrances/exits, and the main entrance ... everything seems to be intact and guests are moving in and out of the park freely ... no indication of anyone being trapped. I read somewhere that adding more information booths might help ... perhaps the guests are simply lost. Well, I tried adding a half-dozen or so booths in various parts of the park ... but the message still appears.

What's odd is that *most* of the park existed well before the messages started appearing, and haven't been modified in a long time (other than adding the information booths as noted above). I did however add one new section to the park about the same time the messages started appearing (which was also immediately after the Summer update was applied), so I've been focusing on that area. In that new area, I've so far only added a couple of rides and a few booths, but guests appear to be having no problems navigating those paths and ride entrances/exits, so it remains a mystery. Oh ... and in addition to the very wide paths, there's also a monorail station in the new section that will take the guest right back to the main entrance.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find these "lost" guests and correct the situation?

Thanks.

Hey, try to check the paths to the toilets and shops. I had that issue in the past and searched for hours. I think it was a path to a toilet exit i removed or blocked somehow by mistake. i could be that the guests were trapped.

I know you said you've already checked ride entrances/exits, but it's worth noting that using the grid tool to make exit paths sometimes causes guests to glitch and get stuck at the exit for no apparent reason.

Hey folks. I figured I'd update you all on my final resolution to this. As Rendrik and JC suggested, I spent more time checking things like toilet entrances and ride entrances/exits, but still didn't find anything.

So, as a last resort, I closed my park, along with all of the rides (except the monorail, to allow guests to leave easily). It took a long time for the 10,000+ guests to leave, but eventually it got down to 27 guests ... and that's where it stayed.

I finally found 15 of those 27 guests on one of the monorail cars ... just riding around, but never getting off. (The stations were all open, and all of the other monorail cars had emptied, but I guess these folks just wanted to ride.) The only way I was able to get rid of them was to close the monorail entirely, change the numberr of cars from 6 to 1 (which eliminated the car they were in), and then increase the numberr back up to 6. That worked, but it was sort of strange that it happened in the first place.

After clearing out those 15 guests, the guest counter still indicated 12 people remaining in the park. But I could never find them. The only "people" I could see were the employees. Now here's the strange part. After about 15 more minutes or so, I noticed that the counter had dropped to 4. During that time, I had never seen any guests exit the park. I decided to wait longer and after another 20 minutes or so, the counter just suddenly dropped to zero. Again, I never saw any guests leave. (I was focusing on the park entrance.) So I still have no idea what went wrong in the first place.

Since then, I've re-opened the park and the messages are no longer appearing. Apparently, no guests are trapped in the park anymore. What's even more interesting ... my park is now attracting over 13,000 guests (over 2000 guests more than its peak count prior to this incident).

Just thought I'd pass this along in case anyone else ever winds up in the same situation.

Found the solution possibly. When it happened to me i had accidentally selected the park entrance along with some trees i was going to demolish. Then the guest had no way (lol) to get out of the park

This is a bug! Some path connections to shops and facilities were broken/disconnected in a recent update!
It seems temporary if you can find the shop/s and replace the path connecting it/them. Also if peeps are in a group they will wait at an attraction for the rest of the group which might explain the constant riders? But seriously we need to have a tool/option to find lost peeps!

Like @ttownsend said above, the problem was with the monorail. I've checked all the station exit/entrances and there is no problem. It seems that some guests just get stuck riding the monorail forever. If I close the monorail for a couple of months, the message goes away. When I reopen the monorail, the message comes back.

I too closed my park and watched 12,000 people all trying to get out the door at once, very funny. My population got down to 19 and all of the people had left. Suddenly those 19 people exited the monorail station at the park entrance and left. Obviously they can get off, the question is why don't they get off. I have 4 monorail stations, so they have options to get off the ride.

This was my first transport ride, so I'm not sure if this occurs with other transport rides.

Ran a park for 51 years with no problems. Built a Light Rail line and suddenly I have "Many Guests Trapped in the Park". There is something seriously wrong with Transport lines!

FYI, there is a bug with the path to vendor stalls that causes the guest to become tripped, I make sure that every vendor stall has a exit to the right and now I no longer have guest trapped in the park.

I have noticed this same thing over the last few weeks. People just stand waving and blocking areas and wont move until you pick them up and move them to another spot. Yet everyone else is just walking about around them.

I’m having the same problem in one of my parks. If you want to find out which guests are stuck do this...
-Open up Park management
-Go to the guest tab
-Click on guest thoughts on the right hand side
-Click the icon next to the “I’m Stuck” complaint (that will open up the individual guest box)
Then you can move the guest.

Also generally when you find one guest that is stuck the rest of the trapped guests will be generally in the same area.

They will be jumping up and down/raising their hands in the air and waving. Kind of like yelling “Hey I’m over here. Help me”

I’m my parks it tends to happen around the entrances or exits of rides and sometimes around shops. So After I help the trapped guests I then would delete and replace the paths that were the problem.

I closed my park until it showed ZERO guests, and I STILL got a message that there were trapped guests! I should have made a screen shot. I'll try to recreate it for you.

Note that when guest groups get separated they report as lost. Also the messages is not real time. It is shown after some (random) period of time. Since the update that allowed the guests to walk more off the side of the path this has been an issue that guest get lost for no reason.
