So, as a last resort, I closed my park, along with all of the rides (except the monorail, to allow guests to leave easily). It took a long time for the 10,000+ guests to leave, but eventually it got down to 27 guests ... and that's where it stayed.
I finally found 15 of those 27 guests on one of the monorail cars ... just riding around, but never getting off. (The stations were all open, and all of the other monorail cars had emptied, but I guess these folks just wanted to ride.) The only way I was able to get rid of them was to close the monorail entirely, change the numberr of cars from 6 to 1 (which eliminated the car they were in), and then increase the numberr back up to 6. That worked, but it was sort of strange that it happened in the first place.
After clearing out those 15 guests, the guest counter still indicated 12 people remaining in the park. But I could never find them. The only "people" I could see were the employees. Now here's the strange part. After about 15 more minutes or so, I noticed that the counter had dropped to 4. During that time, I had never seen any guests exit the park. I decided to wait longer and after another 20 minutes or so, the counter just suddenly dropped to zero. Again, I never saw any guests leave. (I was focusing on the park entrance.) So I still have no idea what went wrong in the first place.
Since then, I've re-opened the park and the messages are no longer appearing. Apparently, no guests are trapped in the park anymore. What's even more interesting ... my park is now attracting over 13,000 guests (over 2000 guests more than its peak count prior to this incident).
Just thought I'd pass this along in case anyone else ever winds up in the same situation.
It seems temporary if you can find the shop/s and replace the path connecting it/them. Also if peeps are in a group they will wait at an attraction for the rest of the group which might explain the constant riders? But seriously we need to have a tool/option to find lost peeps!
I too closed my park and watched 12,000 people all trying to get out the door at once, very funny. My population got down to 19 and all of the people had left. Suddenly those 19 people exited the monorail station at the park entrance and left. Obviously they can get off, the question is why don't they get off. I have 4 monorail stations, so they have options to get off the ride.
This was my first transport ride, so I'm not sure if this occurs with other transport rides.
-Open up Park management
-Go to the guest tab
-Click on guest thoughts on the right hand side
-Click the icon next to the “I’m Stuck” complaint (that will open up the individual guest box)
Then you can move the guest.
Also generally when you find one guest that is stuck the rest of the trapped guests will be generally in the same area.
They will be jumping up and down/raising their hands in the air and waving. Kind of like yelling “Hey I’m over here. Help me”
I’m my parks it tends to happen around the entrances or exits of rides and sometimes around shops. So After I help the trapped guests I then would delete and replace the paths that were the problem.
