I really suck at this game!
I just don't have any creativity inside me I feel, I try really hard to make something look cool and use all the building tools etc but in the end it just looks way worse.

I look at other parks people create and I just don't know how to make mine look like this!

Rant over thanks for listening lol

There are some really great tutorials on YouTube that will give you the building and control basics (most of it anyway). A lot of folks put up videos that are time lapse and don't really walk you through what they are doing when they build but some of the creators have some Let's Build videos that will show you some step by step tips and tricks. I started my Planet Coaster building education by downloading workshop items to begin with that caught my eye and then deconstructing them to see what pieces were used and how. My stuff still doesn't look like some of the great items I see other people making but it's getting better every time I try something new.

We can't all be artists. I'm an engineer, and my stuff might not look good, either, but at least it's structurally sound, by golly. :steamhappy:

Look up some YT vids on how to make stuff in Planet Coaster. Look for building tutorial vids, not the showy-off, finished-product vids or time-lapses.

Someone else said this in another thread (can't remember the username, sorry) -- Don't look at the pieces and think "what can I make with these?" Instead, think "what do I want to make?" and figure out how to use the pieces to create your vision. You'll often have to think outside to box and use pieces in unique ways to achieve the desired result.

Finally, as with just about everything in life, practice makes perfect! Don't expect to build a masterpiece right away. Start small, then work your way up to bigger and better things. I'm no expert at building cool stuff either, but I'm slowly getting better. Here's a pic of one of my current projects which I hope to upload to the Workshop once it's done:

I am trying to make a nice stream of water and I see people put these nice wooden panels on the sides of the water but I can't do it at all. If that makes sense?

You don't mean like this, do you?

I'd kinda have to see an example to know exactly what you're talking about.

Edit: Steam keeps taking out my links for some reason... :/

I think I know what you mean. You want something like a wall / walkway along the water's edge. I stack walls to about the height I want my water. Then I sink the wall into the ground and dig out the terrain to the depth I want. I use the Flatten to Terrain tool to even out the bottom and then find tune the edges using the push tool. If you lower the intensity of the push tool, you can carve away the walls of the hole until the walls yoiu sank show up. I use roof tiles to create a floor (which hides the ragged edges of the hole for the water).

I'll try to copy some examples below but I've never uploaded images before in Steam. You can see the examples on my artwork page. I'm no expert but I like to try to help!

I've used this to create a fountain surrounded by walls and a pond.

And I use this to create a harbor front.

Can remember instruction books and in game tutorials.

Look at Youtube the building tutorials from Youtuber Silvarret. After I watched a few of them I created the following (see my workshop items). It takes patience and a lot of time. All hours I have in PC are just building, no gameplay at all.

Rome wasnt build in 1 day.

The way to get a good creation out:
Idea > Sketch > improvements > cleanup > Final

The way to end up with crap:
Idea > Rush everything > Final

Dont rush it, take time, and develop everytime

And for gods sake dont over critize yourself or be too picky
