Resolution Locked at 720p

why is the resolution locked on the game? I dont remember it being locked before. Its currently stuck at 720p but im switching between playing this on my laptop which i want at 1080p and a 4k screen...

ok so now the problem is the UI is way too huge and i cant access to top portion of the menu to get to the graphical options.

if anybody knows how to modify this games UI and resolution with a cfg file or something from outside of the game please let me know.

The interface (UI) size value is stored in a file named Game_local.config which is located here:

%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster\Config_Local

Paste this address in the Windows address bar of the Explorer window.

The file content looks like this:

You will need to edit the Scale value. Default value is 1.000000

For me, the 1080p option is greyed-out in settings on this gaming rig connected to a 1080p Sony Tv.
I dont see the 720p or 1080p mentioned in that app data config thingy.

I had the same 720p thing, until I realized I actually was in the "windowless border" mode. Make sure you check that in the graphics settings in game.
Mine started automatically that way (windowed borderless) when first starting the game. I changed it to 'Full Screen' and the resolution option un-greyed and I was able to change it,

The same thing happened to me! I tried everything, nothing worked. But I went to my computer settings, and put the screen mode to "portriate" so the settings menu would show the "Comfirm" "Apply" button and it fixed it!
