But you are more than just "downloading" it by clicking that button, so it would be both misleading and deceptive to simply call it "Download."
The ONLY thing that I can say is that the parks are in play>sandbox>my parks>downloads.
No problem. Idk why they call it "subscribing". Maybe because you automatically get updates for the item? Maybe it just sounds cooler? Maybe there are too many "Download" buttons on the internet and a "Subscribe" button sounds more legit to skeptics? Who knows?

I've never added WS items during gameplay... Hmmmm.
