Saving the queue in my blueprint
Hey folks. Just recently started playing this game and really enjoying it. I'm inspired by some of the amazing creations in the Workshop and so started out making my own Coaster to share. I wanted to make an ultra-compact coaster and the queue experience is fundamental to the idea. The coaster zooms around the queue and builds excitement whilst people are queueing.

Problem: when I save my blueprint I can't get the queue to save with it. I've tried the multi-select tool thingy and that seems to ignore queues. I've got as far as making the bare-bones coaster and queue but if I'm to now cover it in props, scenery and landscape there's no way i'll even be able to recreate the queue.

Does anyone know how I can get the queue to save with the coaster? I see indoor queues in many of the pictures of the workshop coasters so surely they must have cracked it?

Thanks in advance :-)

Here's a pic of the bare-bones coaster so you can see what I mean:

I am also having the same problem. I cannot save any scenery or props or buildings built with the ride nor can I save the queues. I also hope that someone can answer your question and my dilema. :steamsad:

Scenery and props you can do by using the select all thingy in the botom right of the interface :) It's just the queueueue I can't do :'-(

Is there really no answer to this? I can't be the first person ever to try to save a queue or path with a blueprint? :-)

As far as I am aware, you can't save paths/queues. I know I have never found a way to do it :(

You can save the scenery to the blueprint though by using the multi-selection tool (bottom right) when you make your blueprint.

Could you not place scenersy such as bushes or lights to mark out the path? Not ideal, but the stuff like that comes in handy on the blueprints I have downloaded, otherwise you have to second guess the creators intent

OK understood - thanks for your replies folks :) It's really frustrating that you can't save a complete "thing" to use in other parks but then since there's seemingly no way to create a custom map to actually play on without unlocking everything then maybe I'll wait a while for a few loose ends to be tied up before ploughing hours int the game :-)

Extremely promising but not quite there yet ...

YES! Agreed. It's a pain to lay paths and queue's in many of the rides and buildings you want to download from the workshop. You don't always know where the creator intended them to go nor do you know the proper width or lenght.

Five years later and they still haven't done it. Shows how much the developers even care what their players need.

Of course they care, they're not fools. no end of money, time, effort, blood, sweat and tears go into these games.

The best you can do at the moment is make sure the path is decorated with fences or kerbs of some kind. the shape of the queue will then be saved. with all the other scenery. The players are quite good at building a path as long as you guide them where to build it.

This. I have a station where the queue is under the Coaster (Can look it up uo see. Called Nightmare) within a building. It doesn't save the actual queue path, but you can use arrows (straight and curved) to define where the queue belongs when someone dl's and uses your blueprint. How this helps and gl!

I've seen text signs laying flat on where the queue was originally that say stuff like "this way > > > ".

One of the big problems using the arrow scenery to point a direction through the queue is that the arrows are huge. This isn't really a problem at all but they are massive!

I think it's the Studio's DLC though (might be wrong) which has road signs with arrows and these are much smaller and better.

Using written signs like KickAir said works better for tight winding queues or simply use a row of "pacman dots" from the start of the queue to the end, most players will know what these are for.

Whether you're using arrows, signs or dot shapes make sure they all stay in one scenery group together. When you do this, the player can easily delete the entire group once the path is laid.

You have never been able to save the queues or paths since day one. It was only implemented in Zoo.
