Boats will come yes but they wont have anything to pick up since the items would be on the list of "non-sellables" =p
Sellable items will still go to the other dock as the teamsters will take all items to different docks, not sure if it's simply rotational or take to closest dock or what, but we do know the goods full at one dock then start going to other dock.
Oh and just tested it out, if you eliminate all dock workers the ships still pick up the goods, I didn't check exactly how long between ships but I believe it was 3 months.
You can store 10k per dock by turning off the export button as these people pointed out. Why do you need a special buildings to store stuff? So you can create more useless traffic for your transporters so they back up even more or you want to create traffic jams?
It would replace longer point-to-point-deliveries with shorter point-to-hub-deliveries.
First of all learn to quote right. I never said any of what you quoted.
Second you are NOT saving any time. Instead of making a single trip to move goods from the resources to the factory you are now making two. Making two trips ties up the transport longer than just one, because you are forgetting that after a trip is when they determine if they need rest, faith, food, or entertainment.
Warehouses was a suggestion made by someone who had barely even played the game long enough to figure out docks already act like a warehouse.
There is, which is why the suggestion aint a good one.
