Population 900

First let me say that T-6 is my first time playing any tropico. That being said...I am stuck at 900 population. I read about changing the cap in the forum so I went and did that. Still stuck. I've started and played 4 or 5 games now and still get to 900 and no more. My husband and I play in multiplayer mode on a created game for 2 only. We use a 4 person map with 2 of the spots closed. We can make money, build a functioning paradise...until we both get stopped at 900 people. Then we run out of workers to function. Any help?

I had the same issue but we changed the settings and its just fine now... Check again those settings. With a friend we had like 1300+1100 or so. Thing is, at least for me the game becomes completely unstable and glitches hardly on multiplayer. And we both have strong pc.

Thanks for the input Naitrino. I'm changing the settings tonight and doing a complete reboot (LOL, when in doubt, reboot) and we'll see what it does tomorrow. We have a set of brand new Alienware gaming computers bought because of WOW. So Im not too worried about glitching, but we'll see. So far loving T-6 tho.

i currently have 1800 and it says the island is full. i've built more homes but they won't fill up; so i'm assuming there is a cap limit per map size?

So, the normal population limit is 2,000. I'm not sure, but I think there is a soft-cap of 1,800 so that you can support 200 tourists. This can be changed in the settings menu.

Since you are playing with another person, the cap is split: you both max out at 900, rather than in a single-player game at 1,800. I'm not sure if your personal game settings affects multiplayer.

Thanks everyone! I went in and changed the cap slider again to unlimited and voila! it worked. No problems now. Just remember to go and change the immigration building settings back if you swapped them.
