4 years
The 6th installment and after 4 years they still are gate keeping mods from us beyond maps? The amount of small QOL mods people could make is staggering. What are they so worried about? Mods are gonna make their game better and last longer? Its crazy a developer is unrelenting with telling me how I should play my game with the options they gave me and anything beyond should be paid for even if it doesnt fix the game just adds a few small features makes no sense

What are you talking about?

They've never stopped you from making mods, it's always been possible using UE editor. And they even went a step further by releasing actual mod tools earlier this year. (which they didn't need to do, but did it anyway)

Or you could just let people do it via the workshop? Ya know the easiest most simple way to do it that the majority of people have access to? Ik you can make mods Im aware but its not the easiest and the few I tried rarely work so they come out and say hey were staring a new branch for this game for modding but were gonna use a 3rd party platform that isnt the most stable for a 4 year old game thats on its 6th version. I didnt say they wouldnt let you clearly you can my point is after all this time the most they let people do via the workshop is make a new flavor of map anything extra added to the game you pay for. Thats gate keeping its not them not allowing you to mod period its you mod the game the way we want you to or through the way we choose unless you know how to make it all yourself then we cant stop you

Not using the workshop isn't the same thing as preventing you from making or using mods which is what you implied.

As for steam workshop, you can blame valve for that. Workshop used to be usable by anyone and was changed to be restricted to steam users only. So, any game that is available on multiple platforms no longer supports steam workshop; because it's easier for them to centralize mod support for cross platform on other sites.

You might as well be pretending sites like Nexus didn't exist long before steam workshop or that people don't release mods on other sites all the time.

You don't need the company to hold your hand and cater to exactly where your mods come from; but when they do you can expect they are going to use the system that caters to their widest possible audience and that's no longer steam workshop.

Other mod sites have existed before steam workshop, and now that valve has closed it off to be steam users only, companies are supporting the wider market.

Step 1: Go to the epic store and download the Trópico 6 mod kit
(Yes you need the epic store because unreal engine is from epic games

Step 2 : chance your trópico 6 to the modding beta in your steam

Step 3 : open your game and Go to settings, tick the box to enable mods and Restarte

Step 4 : Go to "extras" and click "mods" you can selecta "mod io " tô download mods or you can use the modding tools to create your own mods.

Step 5 : ignore my poor english

Step 6 : Go to "Kalypso" discord server and watch the modding tutorial

Step 7 : Enjoy the First trópico with oficial modding

This solution is no longer working, the Mod Kit can no longer be downloaded

I'd wish we got map editor in-game reason why there's not alot of mods because of epic games store requirement,
so just to make custom mp i need too download uncompressed 120gb version + the modkitt is not available they're prob updating it so idk whats happening can't make mods.

Workshop support would be nice, but seeing as how it's Unreal, that's not going to happen...

I prefer workshop myself..
