trade routes are bugged
Began a new game and was playing during colonial era and kept losing because my mandate ran out, why? because for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason my guys would never fill the trade routes. nothing i tried worked, they wouldn't complete the trade routes no matter what.

Were you trying to export food? You probably weren't producing enough of it if it's all being eaten by your population.

Is it still sitting at the production site? You don't have enough teamsters to move it around.

Was the demand for an import or for an export? Because those things matter, there's a difference in filling mandate demands.

The games been out for years, you don't think someone would have noticed if one of the main functions of the game didn't work? You need to figure out what you're doing wrong or provide more details for someone else to tell you what you did wrong.

had enough food production buildings, had plenty of teamsters, and its was exporting contracts. i tried everything and yet again nothing worked. like honestly i think its bugged after a while the trade route would stop being filled at a certain number and never go up again. it has to be a bug

A bug that only effects you, since no one else has this problem in the years since the game came out.
well if its not a bug then what is it? every trade route i had wouldn't be fulfill no matter how many teamsters or production buildings i made. and it wouldn't fill no matter what resource i traded. its utter nonsense, it must be a bug!

Well sometimes the crown asked you to import wares. I made the mistake myself until i realised i wasn't asked to export, i was asked to import a certain ressource.
well i just said complete a trade route, nothing more

Click the task to read its complete description and to know exactly what you have to do. As others said, nothing is bugged with trade routes.

Most of the time "complete a trade route" is an import, not export.

I wish the Truncated version distinguished.

Like a lot of people here said, it's probably just a misunderstanding. I know I done it myself several times before.

Always double check to see if it is an export or import, and then make sure that when selecting a trade deal that you select the CORRECT icon. An island with a red arrow is an export, while green means import. I sometimes make mistakes with the latter if I'm not paying attention to it.

I'll add, if you're exporting, say, logs, then you might have to pause production at your lumber mills, or build a warehouse to redirect logs to the dock instead of being processed.

yeah but the thing is, regardless of wither its exports or imports the route is never fulfilled. they either never stock it or stop at a random number and never fill it again. its 100% a bug

Gonna have to manually see what your workers and teamsters are doing. You'd be surprised to see just how much of their time people spend NOT working. This is why I love employee of the month and the miner workmode, as well as putting stuff next to their workplaces so hopefully they don't travel too far.

same problem here, trade routes arent being fulfilled (both import and export), i have plenty of extra resources and teamsters. think its a bug too
