Intel graphics card 620
Hi, so my game keeps crashing, as other have said...between the credit cards and the beginning of the game. I've read all the posts about the minimum graphics cards. Spent at least 2 hours going over the specs required, checking Dxdiag, reading all Dev responses to questions. The thing is... I have a new computer though....with great specs that meet and exceed the requirements.

But it has an Intel HD Graphics 620. I have played very complex and graphically rich games such as Eco and had no issues. The prob is that this is a all in one computer and I cannot get a different video card if that is needed. I'm so sad if that is the case because I spent hundreds of hours on the previous versions of Tropico and was soooooo excited to be on this beta of 6. By far this is the best game that has been out there and I will be crushed if I cannot play it.

I was wondering though if perhaps it is because on Steam you need a beta key?

Otherwise, please give some ideas as to settings...I really want to play it....
THanks!

What Kunovega was saying is that the HD 620 is about equal to a much older dedicated graphics card. As far as integrated GPUs go, the HD 620 is not bad and should allow you to play most eSports games like Battle Field, Rocket League and even Fortnight at 1366x768 and low graphic settings. But Tropico 6 is more demanding than those titles.

When Tropico 6 firsts launches, it attempts to load the game full screen at your desktops resolution. So, if you are really keen on trying to play the game, you could try (with no guarantee that it will work) to reduce your desktop resolution down to 1366x768. If that gets you to the main menu, go to Options and Graphics. Set the game to run in windowed mode at 1366x768 (or even lower) and low graphics settings on everything else. Exit the game. Then reset your desktop back to your preferred resolution. That way when the game starts, it will load in a reduced resolution window in the middle of your screen. It might work, but because of the shared memory, the gaming experience with Tropico 6 will never be optimal and might possible even crash from time to time.

But be fore warned that the HD 620 is well below the minimum requirements and you will not get support from Kalypso.

ECO is not a graphically rich game, it's a voxel game that can run on 12 year old hardware

You will not be able to play Tropico 6 using intel graphics. You do not "meet or exceed the requirements" as they are clearly listed on the store page and an intel 620 is not even remotely close to meeting them

This is your system compared to the minimum GTX 750

200% below where you need to be

This is your system compared to the recommended GTX 960

You are 500% below the performance rating for the recommended requirements

You haven't even listed the rest of your system specs, but your graphics solution (an intel 620) is not even on par with a GTX 260

Just for reference GTX 260 was released in 2008 (10 years ago) and is not good enough for the majority of current games

I'd ask what the rest of your system specs are but there are no settings to suggest that will run the game on 10 year old quality hardware

This computer is brand new....a Lenovo ideacentre...the rest of the specs are fine....I cant believe my graphics card is 10 years old on a brand new computer. Hmmm....calling Best Buy and making complaints. Thank you for your response, much appreciated

I didn't say it was 10 years old, I said it had the quality of a 10 year old dedicated

That's the problem with buying on-board graphics, they are almost always a decade behind discrete graphics cards

As for a Lenovo Ideacentre, that's a brand and doesn't imply anything about it's specifications, they've been using that name for dozens of different computers for years. You might as well tell me your car is a Chevrolet, OK? But which one? Because both Chevy and ideacentre have dozens of models to pick from.

The majority of Lenovo all-in-one systems are fairly low end. Without knowing your actual specs or at least a more precise model number there's no way to know what else might be wrong here.
