Thanks, but I mean't are any DLC's now included with Tropico 6, but I think I have now realised they all have to be bought as extras.
Thanks, I'll take a closer look
I do, it's very addictive, but I struggle to make a profit in it (I've reached Cold War now, but with an 'easy' game).
I didn't even realise there were missions (are they like tutorials), anyway I've started a new game (still on easier settings) and, at first at least, I had plenty of money, then I hit a plantation famine (or whatever it was) and I wound up with 50,000 in dept and prompted to end the game but I continued and brought it back into profit.
It's a strange game this one I will play it through to Modern Times (if I can get that far), but I'am not sure if the game is really up my street. I think my favourite recent game has to be Transport Fever 2. Tropico 6 is still worth the money though.
Sarsgamer: I understand where you are coming from on this.
Thankyou both for your response.
Do you just not even look at the menu?
New Game:
Tutorials (teach you how to play)
Missions (the actual game / levels challenges, you can continue in them as a sandbox after you win) (there's 15 in the base game and 3 more from DLC)
Festival (DLC campaign, 5 more missions)
Carbbean Skies (DLC campaign, 5 more missions)
Sandbox (a pointless fishbowl mode you can use for testing that has no missions or story goals)
Thanks very much for that, I have just been attacked By Guerrillas who (combined with moving over to Cold War and low on money) wrecked my islands, I had to go back to a saved game, still having problems with money, in spite of selling goods for the highest prices I can get (and looking for cheap imports I can re export). So I will carry on with this game for a while, if i fail then I will take a look at the tutorials. Thanks for the help.
The missions aren't exactly tutorials but they are fun short storylines with specific challenges. Honestly they WILL teach you to get better at the game because they will make you really get familiar with particular mechanics.
The big key to Tropico is this. Start small, start slow, raw materials first. The Multi option in plantations is essential, figure that one out. Also boats boats boats! ;) Do NOT start adding expenses that don't make you solid money until your finances are flowing well. Not even houses! Also, trade contacts are very important, both for reputation and money. Have fun!
That's very good advice, thankyou.
Im an avid gamer and have a rotation of about 30 games.
This isnt one of those games you play everyday for months. Its not that deep.
This is one of those games you play an island in a few days and then move on.
But for these smaller games, this is one of my favorites.
It has strategy and the mechanics go deep but the play isnt complicated and is light hearted.
And it is a nice vibe chilling on the beach on pause with a pile of bones playing some balearic beats.
