How does it compare to 4 and 5?

I found 5 to be a disappointment. I hated the budget buttons that made buildings more efficient while increasing the 'wealth' of the employees. It felt like a ridiculous simplification instead of an actual decision. I also really disliked the required military emphasis, especially since it worked so poorly. It also felt like it had less Tropico flavor.

This looks much closer to 5 than 4, but I wanted to ask before I wrote it off completely.

I bought and played 5 for a very short amount of time, I barely even remember it. Tropico 6 is the continuation I wanted from Tropico 4. I still think 4 did some things better than 6, but 6 also does things better than 4 in other areas.

Tropico 6 is worth it, though.

i think like you, 6 is better, but the lack of some elements like private buildings is a mess. religius vs militaristic is another issue. but running 3600 in 2090 is something beyound t4 capacity

You y'all have deviated a bit from the subject sadly im only a "casu" from the series because i never really had my hands on every games of the serie so i can't reallly tell but i can say at least that not everyone seem satisfied with the game and that he seem a bit disapointing / lack cluster because this sequel taked her time and with all the modernity that we had the moment of the release the game didn't transcended the series but i still think it's a good game but at worst just try by yourself the other one when there is a sale or whatever i remmeber having a good time with an old tropico on my old xbox

This is a HUGE issue for me. How are these opposites on the political spectrum? Yahweh (the Abrahamic God) is literally a god of war. Why can't I have an atheist pacifist state?

It is closer to 5 than 4, in most respects. I actually enjoyed 5, and the graphics of 4 make it very hard to return to.
