How do you use pulling strings?[Solved]
I purchase and use distraction and convincing talks from the broker regularly so I'm familiar with the idea of what he sells and how they can be used to avoid demands/requests.

But specifically the pulling strings purchase states it can be used to end events early. How? I've been playing all day and had many events happen, Penultimo simply tells me the event is active and there's no option on the screen to prevent it and I see no where in the interface where they are listed as currently active. Months later he will tell me the event ended on it's own.

Since events don't show up on the task overview where you could normally using convincing talks or distractions, where are you supposed to activate pulling strings? I feel like it must be buried in the interface somewhere but I'm not finding it. (And yes, I have several already purchased and waiting to be used, the mouse over in the broker buy screen tells you how many you have)

When those Tasks manifest, all that you have to do, after you have bought Convincing Talks and/or Pulling Strings, is just click on the task, and it will give you the option to use whichever is needed to bypass the Task.

Convincing talk and distraction work that way.

Pulling strings is specifically for "events" which do not function that way, which is why I'm asking.

Demands and ultimatums go into the task list, you simply click on them and choose convincing talk or distraction to complete them. Events do not appear anywhere in the task list and have no where to activate pulling strings.

I'm well aware that these are how you spend convincing talk and distraction:

But events do not go into this list and have no activation button for pulling strings when they are announced, the event simply starts, restricts or penalizes whatever it's going to take effect on and then goes away however many months later, in the mean time the only place you even see the event in progress is on the buildings that are effected (such as closed mine worker slots) but there's no where to activate the pulling strings to make it end.

Good point. I've been wondering on that one myself. For example, how would you use Pulling Strings to end a drought quickly? Stop the Trade trend of some commodities being up or down?

It's like they got half-way through introducing a new game mechanic, but only got as far as integrating the Fix (Pulling Strings), but forgot to include how to apply the Fix.

I finally found the answer, but it's not taught in the tutorial or hinted at during any missions:

It's in the Trade Menu on the Price Modifiers tab under the heading Economic Events.

I never use the Price Modifiers tab since trends are all shown on the offers tab anyway.
