Aweful economy in one mission
Although I would say the same about all the missions, I am now playing my 4th mission and it's the one where you have limited space to build and must focus on tourism and oil drilling.

As soon as game started, I mass-spammed the map with oil rigs on sea and on land, and I set up mining operations for the entire islands.

Each building had houses beside, and each island had a port, sea teamster, inland teamster, and a landing port.

I had a successful tourism industry as well.

Although it was in the stage where I finished 2 tourist ports and a few entertainment buildings for the main questline, I racked up lots of debt - more than $60k.

Regardless of the economy set up, in other missions as well I mass-spam mines and oil fields at the very start of the mission and it's still not good enough compared to the enormous profits that you would on Tropico 5.

Any tips on how to overcome this economy crisis?

build carefully and slowly. if you spam mines and oil rigs then you'll be broke before they become worth it.

Yes but the outcome of 1 mine is much less than the outcome of 10 mines.
And all my mines have full staff working in them with regular production.
Not sure why my it is not being exported and giving me profits

distance from the dock is a factor you need alot of teamster offices, rigs need teamster ports.

I don't bother with oil rigs. Creates pollution, not good if you're trying to promote tourism. Reinforce the shipbuilding biz the mission starts you with.

Go slow, if you try to build everything at once then, yeah, your bank account is going to tank. Pay attention to your employment rate, if you got more jobs then people, why spam more stuff? Instead build up your cash-reserves.

If it's the mission "better red than dead" i made it with cans, sigars and foreign help.

In T6 it seems to me that raw resources are balanced around not making much money until you refine them in an industry. Neither oil rigs nor gold mines make you rich but pharma companies and jewelery shops will make a heavy profit.

Yes true.
The mission that I was stuck on is
Concrete" something where you must focus on alternative economies

He is playing Concrete Beach, the oil industry is a requirement. Of course if you had actually played the map you would be familiar with this and you might have refrained from giving out that bad advice.

You really need to kinda divide the map in half because every oil rig has a huge pollution footprint, and that footprint get bigger with every industry you add. Even a car deck is enough to trigger the red areas.

The first thing to do on Concrete Beach is to demolish the power plant and tv station. Neither are necessary at the start. Later on build a nuclear plant because the pollution is really low.

Put all your tourism stuff on the clean half of the map and all your industry and such on the other half.

I just beat this one the lack of space is brutal, I took it as more of a survival then actual missions, you should be able to tell when you're on the last mission and if you get to it and arent in any trouble I wouldnt touch anything, I was barely able to survive the last part I was in constant debt but my exports kept me from failing

if you know the key this mission is easy .. Just FOCUS on Oil. No Farms, No Plantations . nothing .. Just build a litte PLASTIC City. 2 -3 Plastic Factory with all the Stuff around the Workers need .. good houses, church, shop , medic and so ..

Lower all other Wages .. except the Oil & Plastic .. Workers ..

Switch to Only Rich can Vote .. and everybody loves you..

If you swim in Money .. Focus on the Tourist !

Yea. I wish I was not so dumb and had figured out the plastic part earlier. It was not until the last task where it mentions profits from oil AND plastics that I had by D'oh! moment.

I barely beat it. Simply because I never built a high school or college soon enough.

By the end I had 3 high schools and 2 colleges and I could not fill the 100 educated and 25 college jobs that were open despite having 150 unemployed and using all the bonus edicts.

Ty for all the suggestions. Will def try today

Just finished it without much problems.
On each island I had a dock, teamster port, teamster inland, landing base, and made sure that at least 2 entertainment buildings were there. On loading screen I read something about tropicans walking slow when they are low on fun, so I thought with entertainment, they would work efficiently.

In islands where there are multiple oil rigs and wharves, I put 2 teamster ports instead of one.

Despite all that, I see the economy go from -30k up to 20k in a flash.
I'm pretty sure there is something that needs to be adjusted so that numbers don't go up and down like a slot machine
