4 World Wonders choices
So, I was thinking of making this post, where we could say which World Wonder we choose for each of the 4 eras, just to discuss around it, getting opinion or ideas from others, etc...

I personally choose those Wonders :
  • For the colonial era, Stonehenge: Since it grows trees around it quickly, you can easily set up a few lumberjacks and coconut harvesters around it. It does help with pollution too, and I don't really care for the fertility bonus since I use multiculture on my plantations.
  • For the World War era, I always have trouble on which one to choose.
The Moai does speed up boats, but there's no real interest in doing so.
The Eiffel Tower, from what I gather, broadcast TV and Radio station through the whole island instead of their initial radius. Meh, I can always build more.
The Hikone castle does help if you want to play a heavy Military island, which is not my case.
The Taj Mahal gives money, which is kinda great until you reach the "I make a f**kton of money, I can spend for whatever I want" point of development.
  • For the Cold War, I usually go for the Coliseum, since it greatly helps with the citizen's needs. However, it seems too powerful for me and removes the interest of buildings services, so I try not to go for it now.
So I'm looking for which one of the remaining 3 to take. Does anyone know the real use of the Great Sphinx?
  • Finally, for the Modern Era, I usually go for the Sky Temple, as I find the other ones useless (and hey, more efficiency is always great).
The Neuschwanstein Castle is great, just not that much. And if tourists leaves, others can take their place.
Gizeh Pyramid, useless for me. It helps to save a few weeks on constructions until you can afford quick build easily. Yey, I guess...
The White House usually save me a few thousand every months, meh...
The Winter Palace is probably good if you play a full Martial Law play, but pretty useless unless you never build services (or the Coliseum)

Here ye go, feel free to share your choices and opinions :steamhappy:

1. Stonehenge (same reason)
2. Eiffel Tower (more electricity)
3. Lady Liberty (more space for other buildings) (coliseum just in case of a hard/bugged game to save money, whats bugged aswell cause you spend hell of money for entertainment - no churches, more industry)
4. Sky Temple in combination with 500+ pineapple plantations
In the more aggressive missions where you know you're going to have a lot of rebellions or attacks the winter palace is almost a must. Maybe not in a sandbox as much but I lost 2 missions on hard that forced you to provoke rebellions because they overwhelmed my palace before my army could mobilize. Wouldn't be a problem if the 2 army bases I had nearby were actually staffed or the soldiers were chilling in their house watching TV or in a NEARBY entertainment building. But no, alas all 4 dudes were in a world wonder on a completely separate island from the main island. WHY? Before you provoke a rebellion you should be able to manually scramble military forces in anticipation.
Hey, update of my choices, following the different updates, DLCs and gameplay experience o/

  • For the Colonial Era, I now go to the Brandenburg Gate. It's pretty hard to change the political view of a die-hard tropician. Having the Gate remove that (mostly). Then, just focus on increasing the reputation with one faction, and make everyone follows this faction with medias. Really helps with elections.
  • For the World Wars, I go for the Eiffel Tower. Helps with the situation before, and the other ones' bonuses don't look that appealing to me.
  • For the Cold War, my choice is still the same. The Coliseum remove some of the challenge so I don't go for it. The Sphinx is pointless. The Saint Basil's Cathedral is more for a religious based island, which is not what I usually go for. So I usually stick to the Statue of Liberty, plus it's on water so you don't lose land for it.
  • And for the Modern Era, I now go for the Neuschwanstein. The update on tourism which make it a somewhat viable option make me choose this. The Sky Palace is still a great choice, but you can easily grow crops in the Modern Era with the Hydroponics.
1. Hagia Sophia
(Healthcare means nothing. Keep the unemployee as the reserved workers (or soldiers))

2. Taj Mahal Palace
(Money comes when fighting rebels or small foreign invasion)

3. Colloseum of Rome
(Care only Food and Entertainment, Liberty is optional)

4. Winter Palace
(Take this as an insurance. You are invincible with enough money for quick building it)

Ahu Akivi Moai Heads is also good to counter blockade by foreign powers.

Yes. Tropico is a defense game for me.
