How do you leave Colonial Era?
I'm new to the game and can not figure out how to leave the Colonial Era for the first mission. Do I just keep fueling the independent until a new mission comes up or are there certain requirements?

Hello guys,

to leave the colonial era you have to start a revolution against the crown. To achieve that goal you need to get more revolutionaries on your side, to do that you can:

1. Fullfill the demands of the revolutionaries, they can reward you with revolutionary immigrants
2. You can build newspapers and turn on the work mode "The Independent", this will help you convince people of the revolution
3. You can also kill/arrest members of the crown to bring up the percentage of revolutionaries among your people.

I hope I was able to help you!

The best way is to fullfill revolutionary demands and always choose the 10 immigrants.

I've made a couple of videos to get you started and how to complete this. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1697459259

Thank you so much. I wish the game gave you the mission to claim independence before building teamster offices on the surrounding islands. It made this very confusing for the order in which you're supposed to accomplish your goals.

Build a newspaper and change the dropdown so it converts people to the revolution

The option for a revolution never appears. How do I trigger it to start? I keep running out of time with the crown, but I'm almost 2hrs into the same map with tons of money.

It should trigger automatically. If you haven't seen it, open up the factions tab and select the revolution (black/red) one and see if it's sitting there. Always extend your mandate when completing the Crown missions until you are ready to move into the next era.

If a Crown mission says to build a Coconut hut for example and you already have one but do not want another, just cancel, another will appear shortly - just make sure you have at least 2 years left of your mandate.

I'm trying to complete the first mission. This makes no sense to me. I've never had this much trouble in a Tropico game. My population is almost entirely revolutionaries, yet there's no option on the screen.

Is there a secret to building the teamster buildings on the other islands before the revolution?

I just figured out I need landings to build teamster offices on the other islands, not a way to leave colonial age.
