Tips for mainteaning political support?
Despite having 73% overall happiness, I have 4% support. Factions are fine too. I don't know why I'm loosing all my games due to elections.

I don't have any homeless or unemployed either.

I'm starting to struggle with the same issue, my problem stems from arresting hundreds of rebels, which apparently causes their families to not vote for me, go figure!
So i'm gonna stock up on image campaigns from my broker and I have unlocked the 'martial law' edict which may come in handy.
I'm also gonna increase liberty see if that helps, it's my worst stat in current game. Going to delete most of those useless watchtowers.

Having a similar issue where overall hapiness is good, factions are fine, but for some reason my support is absolutely terrible (30's)

Just in general, don't ignore protesters and let them time out. If you make a a promise in a speech you need to fulfill it. That is why I never promise anything. It seems like my standing goes down after Ioad a saved game, before going up again. So maybe try not saving a game just before an election?

Have you failed promises before?

Have you been arresting people?

Both of these will lower it and there's a few others as well =)

Also not doing the missions for the factions will lower it by a few points, especially if you ignore a particular faction a few times.

I don't even have a police station/prison (crime is fine). I always success with promises. Factions are all good.

The thing is I don't udnerstand because I never have anything low and still I'm always below 10% support.
Same problem guys. Tried to councer it by building "influence" building like TV/newpaper and setting them at "rise like of president" type of work. Never helped, so having 1% of votes I'm just ignoring elecetions and trying to make all missions which may end by early elections. Hope this will be fixed somehow.

i think its a bug ,because on election day, i did a speech and used some regulations and reputation has risen from 5% to 60

That could be. I was just looking and it is not that they are against me, most of the people are just undecided.

Its easier to go all game on martial law and fight the rebellions
Cheshire1 Mar 31, 2019 @ 12:52pm
I tried going all game on martial law but it seemed to affect my freight prices??

In Modern times it feels almost impossible to win the election after a few times... like everyone is quite happy but in the end I get less than 10% support and loose it all. I am kind of wondering if it is meant that way or not?
Kyo Gnome Mar 31, 2019 @ 4:26pm
factions are only one part of the picture. support goes up when you satisfy all the needs of the people. you need to builds more churches... houses.... healthcare... etc.

The easiest way to keep your support up is by building all residences in one location so you can provide tons of needs to everyone at the same time (you also need to have only the wealthy vote so those shanty towns dont vote you out).

Only let rich people vote.

Give them a big tax cut just before the election.

Just like real life.
Blodo Mar 31, 2019 @ 6:38pm
Interesting thing I found: overall caribbean happiness (can be seen in the ledger) contributes to voter dissatisfaction heavily if it's too high compared to your own overall happiness, and it tends to plateau at about 80% during the modern era, so if your overall happiness is lower than that people are going to be annoyed. I actually use intimidate neighbours off of my commando garrison a lot for this reason.

If the gap is too big, set your immigration office to open doors, your emigration policy to love it or leave it, and start bringing in rescues from raids to replace the losses. A tax cut just before an election only helps if you're hovering around 40% support, if less than that then don't bother with the tax cut, just don't do the election and wait it out on those policies so that all the malcontents start leaving and hopefully don't become rebels.

Same, some games I have a good hapiness, a good faction support ... and only 10% of people who want to vote for me.

What is the point to fufill happiness and faction's score if they are not corelate with the voting system ?
