Declaring independency
I have read a couple of threads before about achieving independency but I am still stuck.

I have built multiple newspapers (and set them to independent), built guard towers and two forts, I am declining missions from the crown and doing all of the missions from the revolutionaries, trying to keep my people happy but still I can't declare independency.

I remember that in Tropico 5 you had to gain a certain percentage of support, is there a way to check that in Tropico 6? Or does anyone have another advice?

I do all missions. Plus ur going against a few things.

newspapers increase liberty but guard towers and forts decrease it. you really need to pick one. but i do ALL revolutionary missions and ALL crown missions to keep my mandate. With time, it'll come to u.

It shows you the support in the left corner.

If you decline demands from the Crown you end up with worse trade offers as well. I only decline the demands I don't care for like build yet another rum distillery when I already have one, or if my mandate is running out and I'm low on cash then I obviously don't take on expensive demands from the Crown, better to decline and hope for an easier demand.

Until you are ready to declare independency you can safely decline demands from the revolutionaries.
Build the newspapers where there's lots of traffic or where people live (set them to max budget), and when you complete demands from the revolutionaries you choose 10 rev.immigrants, not cash or blueprints.

You need $15k to declare independence without war, or conflict rather because it's not much of a war :)
It's been a couple months since I chose war so they may have updated that part. I have played the beta since december.

Okay thanks for your advice, guys. I saw the counter in the upper left corner but the support was up to 77% and it still didn't work. So I was wondering I missed something. But I will give it another shot now :)

Like the poster above said, just start killing royals if needed to make it to 60 approval.

I'll never do that. I've supported the aristocracy all my life.
But I have 60%.
So If I have 60% why revolution not beggin ?

I have built a military fortress. Will the soldiers join us? Or should I tear it down?

If I tear down the fortress... what if the pirates attack me again?

revolution 95
King 37

What next ? How to start revolution ?
I play ONLY singleplayer. Never in whole life sendbox, never.

If you're playing sandbox, there should be two options for declaring independence in the quest dialogue - one for paying off the crown and the other if you want to fight. Open the quest menu and pick one.

If you're playing a scripted scenario, going independent is probably part of a story mission.

I think it's both 60% revolutionary approval *and* 60% revolutionary population (which is why people have suggested the newspaper and plain old assassination to improve the ratio). Take the immigrants from revolutionary missions, avoid the immigrants from crown missions, and just work on it until the game says you're ready. Once you meet the conditions, Penultimo will pop up with an option to declare independence by either paying or fighting - you can delay as long as you want to prepare, once he gives you that quest it's locked in forever until you commit to it.

It's pretty lame that people can't even explain what the win conditions are. It's a mystery that you will "get" or you won't because some mission bugs and will never complete.
