Roads still poop?
After watching many Let's Plays of beta, I don't understand it; T6 is apparently on an entirely new Engine. And yet the same garbage road system is still in place. Cant connect/intersect 2 roads that are right next to each other, weird turns, etc. Looks exactly the same as 3,4,5.
I LOVE Tropico and have played since 1. I just dont understand why with a new Engine it looks like the same game and not improved/fixed the biggest issue of the game. If it was the same engine I could understand.

Yea, roads are pretty finicky, still.

I often find myself having to destroy and repay for them because building a long road will prevent short ones from being made. I end up having to rip up entire roadways, build the short drives first and then link them section by section. It ends up covering the exact same squares I wanted in the first place, but it wouldnt recognize that they were usable grid sqaures if I'm just trying to do small side roads

You have to build your side roads first or you spend tons ripping up and relaying the same sections over again

A game engine is just about graphics and asset management, has nothing at all to do with gameplay. It's the exact same gameplay code, just with a new graphics engine.

Yeah but after so many games with the same road building problems, you think they would rework that game code.

It seems to be the source of a lot of complaints. Maybe now with an open beta, they will listen.

I agree. Although its prob too late to rework the entire road system.
T6 is looking like a reskin / DLC at this point. nothing crazy new/exciting worth a new game for (yay, pirates.. DLC)

Complete nonsense, everything is reskinned, there are a ton of new buildings, new edicts, new character creation, new era, the game is great.

New buildings= DLC
New edicts: you mean how you now have to RESEARCH the same ol' before issueing them now, and it costs? Yeah, fun feature /s
What new era? I saw the same old colonial, cold war, modern

Sorry, just wanted to ask if I pre-purchase the game. Am I allow to play it? or do I need to wait until it to be release?

If you pre-purchase the game from Steam or Kalypso you do get to play the beta which Kalypso has said will run until the full game is released in January.
