Won't load
The game loads fine up until I click on any button AFTER the main menu. It stalls while loading the new page. The music continues on just fine, and the "Did you know" bits at the bottom keep updating, but the loading progress bar fills and then stops. I waited 10 minutes before I shut down the game through Task Manager. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Anyone know of a fix? I have a brand new PC and everything is up to date and there is more than enough memory and storage. Thanks.
CPU: AMD A9-9425 RADEON R5 2C 3.10 GHz
RAM: 8GB
OS: WIN 10 64-bit

I failed in the CPU and Graphics Card.

Note to developers: I don't know about everyone else, but I do not consider Tropico the sort of game that should require a PC that costs a fortune to play. I accept that I wasted my money on this before I checked out the specs, but I am angry because I loved this franchise and I refuse to upgrade my hardware just to play this one game. Everything else I play runs just fine.

It doesn't require a fortune in hardware. The minimum required graphics card listed (the Radeon HD 7870) came out in 2012. It's asking for 7 year old hardware, the alternate option listed is a gtx 750 from 2014. Either of these are so low end at this point that they are available at under $100 or can be surpassed by current generation low budget options for only slightly more.

You're basically being asked to have hardware that meets 7 year old system requirements.

I don't know what games you play, but Tropico 6 has some of the lowest requirements of any game I put time into these days. Even if you bumped up to the recommended GTX 960 or R9 380 these are the low end (just above budget tier) from 2015.

Graphics cards available now are 3 generations beyond the minimums and 2 generations beyond the recommended.

I mean the CPU required is so old that you could buy better for $73 new or $30 used.

The graphics card for recommended is so old you can buy better for $90

You could build an entire system that exceeds the requirements for around $500

You didn't even list a graphics card, a graphics card is expected for any modern game.

The hardest part of trying to even match those system requirements is that the parts listed are so old they aren't even being manufactured anymore, it would actually be easier to exceed the requirements buying anything from the budget range of the current or last generation.

It can't be helped that you bought a very low end dual core CPU and without a discreet graphics card, there's desktops from 2012 that will out perform that for gaming.

Do you have a graphics card?

I have exactly the same problem on my girlfriend's PC. We bought the game a while ago and it worked perfectly, with the arrival of the new DLC we wanted to play a little and when trying to start a game what we were commenting on happened, the game keeps loading the level forever.
I don't remember exactly the characteristics of her computer, but it meets the recommended requirements, except for the windows she uses windows 7.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Hi everybody,
@Kunovega
Thank you for jumping in, helping out and giving a nice little overview. :rulez:

@rayeaton
I can just relate to the detailed post by Kunovega.
The system specs are clearly listed across all official store page and can be viewed before purchase.
When not hitting those and/or not checking those before buying and not meeting at least the minimum requirements, we cannot guarantee the game to run nor can we support you any further as we cannot upgrade your hardware nor downgrade the game.

@Tdavi
Could you please share your system specs in advance in order to get this properly sorted?
To get those, please do following:
*Click 'Steam Help' menu (top left of your Steam-client window).
*Select second-last option 'System Information' in the dropdown menu.
*Right-click in the popped-up window and select 'Copy all text to clipboard'
*Simply paste the copied system information here.

Thanks in advance.

-cheers
