Crashing on loading screen
I recently installed Tropico 6, waited literally hours for it to download, and I click new game or customization, and it goes to the loading screen, just to crash. Help?

Thank you for the answer. However the Core should be able to sustain more than 3,0 GhZ: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/it/it/ark/products/196597/intel-core-i7-1065g7-processor-8m-cache-up-to-3-90-ghz.html And I play other games that have that requirements with all the graphic settings at maximum.

@Valerio, in order for us to properly assess your problem we need more information about your system.
If you are not familiar with getting your system specs, simply do as follows:

  • Click 'Steam Help' menu (top left of your Steam-client
  • Select second-last option 'System Information' in the dropdown menu.
  • Right-click in the popped-up window and select 'Copy all text to clipboard'
  • Simply paste the copied system information into your next post here.




@michele.cavallotti, your laptop has a quad-core setup that is correct, however, the base rate is still just 1,30Ghz. The boost you are referring to is only applied to one core. So you would have one core with over 3,0GHz but the other three remain on 1,30GHz which still puts you under minimum requirements.
And as I have mentioned in my previous post, your graphics card also does not meet the minimum requirements.

please check the respective chat. As you can see, many other users have posted their specs and in most cases, the reason for the crashes simply was insufficient hardware.
Please be aware that the minimum and recommended required system information are always visibly listed on all official store pages:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: AMD or Intel, 3 GHz (AMD A10 7850K, Intel i3-2000)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD/NVIDIA dedicated GPU, 2GB dedicated VRAM (Radeon HD 7870, Geforce GTX 750)

Therefore, we cannot guarantee nor support you any further, when you are not able to properly run the game in the first place.

I got the same problem. I get the launcher, then as soon as it starts initialising it crashes back to the desktop. I don't think the problem is located in my hardware being too low, but posting my hardware info below

Hello @Unerde, is this not meet the minimum spec required?

Just buy this game, I can go to Main Menu, but when selecting New Game, Its very slow loading (with the music and the "Did You Know" text running and changing), but when it's already 100%, there's nothing happen (wait for about 10 - 15 min).

If not meet the minimum spec, is there something that I can do to fix this, technically.

Hey, I have a similar problem. But first here my specs:

i9 7940x
asus rtx 2080ti
64gb ddr4 g.skill 3200 ram
asus rog strix xe mainboard
samsung m2 960 pro 1tb

I played the game a few months ago maybe from a half year or so. it works fine. now I want to play it again but on the starting menu after the " click a button " before the main menu ( during the initializing the game ) . it crashes. can't see any error code. is there a log file anywhere?

that's sad because I paid for a game that's no longer working :-S
and YES all drivers are up to date.

and also yes I did a few reinstalls. but the same result.

yes I also disabled the windows defender when I have installed the game

As your CPU just provides 2-cores, rather the minimum of 4, there is nothing I can do, rather than thinkin about getting a new CPU with 4-cores. Especially since the rest of your PC is at least mid-range and above (RTX2060).

I saw your comment on my review and appreciated the feedback. I decided to reinstall the beta again (having already done so at the time of the original post), and the game worked. I managed to get through the first tutorial without any problems, whereas before the beta wouldn't stay open for longer than 2 minutes. I've changed my review to positive for now since the game is working and I appreciate you going out of your way to resolve this. so your system should be capable of handling Tropico 6 hardware-wise.
Please install the latest Catalina update, as you even have missed quite some:
Another users claimed since the latest Catalina OS update (version 10.15.4; release last week) the game runs properly now on his side.

I dont know if u found a way to fix the problem, but i gave it yesterday another try to run the game
and its working !!!! So...lets play....

P.S. to upgrade like u mentioned i should wasnt luckely not an option...coz most games wouldnt run on Catalina

Tropico 6 crashing on start up ever time.
Gets to installizing game part and then dies consistently.
have restarted and reinstalled 3 times, uninstalled aura, updated drivers, disabled steam comunity overlay, no change.

specs are
