Crashing on loading screen

I recently installed Tropico 6, waited literally hours for it to download, and I click new game or customization, and it goes to the loading screen, just to crash. Help?

Same issue as @hausmckinney, Tropico 6 crashing on loading screen. I did attempt to add latest DLC but noticed the crash after adding. Removed DLC, still crashes. To my knowledge, I am not using Aura.

From past steam experience on ubuntu with other games, I uninstalled entire game and reinstalled only the base Tropico 6 Game to the current release via Steam. Still crashes. If there's some hidden subdirectory I need to clean out on Ubuntu, please advise. *.dmp file is large but I can upload upon request.

Just ran the "moments ago update". Still not working, Still crashes in about 30 seconds every time. We have already established that my iMac 5k is well equipped to run Tropico and did so without issue since the crashes began in late October. Any real updates/help coming soon? Thank you

Once again, please send our support the crash dumps and system specs. I cannot do anything with the error-message you have posted here. Only the full system specs and crash dumps can help our developers getting this properly sorted.

Unerde, I appreciate your request however since Nov 1st 2019 I have sent that information twice. Obviously there are other users with similar issues that can send info at this point so I will stop posting for now and try Tropico again in the future.

I was having the same problem, game crashes on the main menu right about the time the statue of liberty starts to fly into the frame aka 30 secs in. Buuuuuuuutt when I disable my wifi, restart the steam app in "offline mode," and run the game I'm be able to start the game and play. At least that works for me. Hope it works for you. The developers put a spam link on the splash screen, to get more votes for best game and the Mac system won't tolerate it. With the wi-fi off I've run this game using lower than required specs for 200+ hrs. Disclaimer: I am using a Mac Air with the beta version. I've posted this info on other threads and folks there have reported that they're even able to run the final version with this hack. Hope it works for y'all.

Just like you I gave up on their "support", but then someone posted a wrok around and i tried it.

I found that it worked me around the crash and you dont have to endlessly submit specs.

Start Steam in offline mode, turn your WiFi off, and then launch the game. You should be able to play normally assuming your system has the graphics capability. You can then go back and turn your Mac's wifi back on if you need to. I did this, and have been playing 30+ hours (dont forget to turn off the seasonal stuff that they force on you be default or you will have snow everywhere). Its obvious to me that they are trying to do something during loading that Macs dont like... perhaps a redirect on Steam to make you vote for best game???

Unerde, please take notice to this successful workaround. Perhaps now your team can develop the fix!
