Game crashed ONLY with "new"/random maps. Need help
I can play any of the missions, and any of the original maps on sandbox.
But if I try to create a random map or enter a community map, the game crashes.
My achievment to create X number of random maps is at nine (so, nine times that I have tried and the game crashed), so I can see that the game creates the map but it crashed before I could see it. It usually happens mid to end of loading.
My computer is not very strong but it amazes me that everything else, including all the original maps, work just fine, but the ramdom ones won't.

It seems like the random maps use more memory. I have noticed they take a bit longer to load. Try closing down any background tasks you have running like Steam.

Thanks for your reply =)
Unfortunately, exiting steam closes the game too. And besides steam, my antivirus is the only thing running while I play the game.
Too bad that this lil bit of extra memory that random maps require is enough to make my game crash.
It is getting boring playing the mission/sandbox maps over and over again :/
If anyone knows how to bypass this peak in memory usage while loading a random map, let me know please. If I'm able to load it (the random map), I think I will be able to play it, just like any other map (sandbox/mission).
Don't have a solution, but if it's any comfort right now random maps aren't exactly that much interesting either given their tendency to generate islands with obvious geometric shapes and uninteresting terrain features. I've spent hours before trying to generate maps that don't consist of 2-6 oddly equally distributed slabs of triangle or boxed shaped islands. Having no way to preview maps either makes the process rather tedious; I can hum the menu's theme song by heart now due to all the restarts.

I suppose the only saving grace is not having to place mines and such in the same place over and over again. I really hope the next update specifically addresses the map generator and tosses in more options to customize the map.

I really do not know if memory is why your game is crashing, it could be something else. Have you tried building a small map? I mean it is just sort of a test to see if it is memory, not a solution.

Hi everybody,
when it comes to crashes, please always provide your system specs in the first place (at least OS+bit, CPU, GPU and RAM) as well as quoting the error-message here, if there is any shown, after the crash.
Thanks in advance.

I hadn't tried that. I did it just now and if did not work. But thanks, it was a good suggestion =)

Hey Unerde. I did not post my system specs cause as I said I know my PC is not very good. I discovered it by searching for a solution to this problem XD By doing it I found out it is below min.
But, here it is:
Intel Core i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70 GHz (4CPUs) ~2.70 GHz
RAM 8GB
64 bits
DirectX 12
NVIDIA GeForce GT 730

When the crash happens, I get an "Unreal Engine 4 Crash Report" with no real info about the problem, just a space to "Please provide detailed infomation about what you were doing when the crash occured".

What a bummer =(
But, as I can't play the random maps anyway cause my PC is not good, I won't have the chance to get frustrated with it too :p ( I reckon that it is my fault, but I'm poor so this is the best PC I can get).
I really love the game and I really liked Tropico 6, despite the thounsands of bugs everywhere limiting a lot the game experience. Bugs were the real problem.
