What is going on with quick build and how do I make it stop??

Come back to Tropico after a few months away and I'm not sure what's going on - every time I place a building, it goes straight up without any construction workers going out to it, and it's costing me extra as if I've selected to quick build. Doing it on everything I build and it's absolutely drained my money - does anyone know why this is happening and how to make it stop?

Your fault for having ctrl always selected smh

I haven't touched ctrl, I know that is how you intentionally quick build. What I'm saying is that I'm not trying to quick build, but every time I place something it does, despite me not pressing ctrl or any other keys.

could you share some more details about your keyboard/mouse or additional softwar your are running and need for one/both?
As this sounds like a problem with hotkeys/macros.

I have the exact same issue, i press to build something and it automatically goes in to quick build, have you been able to solve it?

Uninstall mods, reset your keybindings. Make sure you don't have anything accidentally pressing CTRL when you place the building.
