High temperatures in the tropics 6
Hello everyone, I am having high temperature issues when I play Tropic 6. Upon entering the game, immediately the processor and graphics card temperature goes up a lot (around 25º C) and also decreases to the same intensity when I turn it off. What I find strangest is that it does not increase or decrease gradually, it is instantaneous. Does anyone have or had the same problem? (my native language is PT-BR, translated by Google)

System specs?

If you barely meet the requirements for the game you may be pushing your system to its limits

Hi Juca Alves,
system specs would be greatly appreciated and are needed in order to get this sorted properly (OS+bit, CPU, GPU and RAM).
Apart from that, please enable v-sync, meaning capping the fps to a max of 60. This will also help, decreasing heat and workload of your machine.

-cheers

You're well above the requirements, so it shouldn't be straining.

Have you tried capping frame rates with vsync as Unerde suggested?

Are you using any programs to overclock or adjust cpu or gpu speeds?

I activated the V-Sync, processor and video card in stock

After enabling v-sync, are you still getting problems with overheating?
Or is everything running fine now?

I have a GTX 1060 6gb and ryzen 7 2700x running on windows 10, so comparable specs.

the instantaneous jump can be normal when immediately hitting the system with a heavy load. some games i play make my gpu jump 30C before the fans ramp up and slow it down.

with your graphics card, id say it's normal. a lot of graphics cards by default either dont spin the fans, or spin them at low speeds until they hit a certain temperature.

I limit my frame cap to 60fps so it takes some stress off of the GPU and CPU.

I do find it strange that your processor jumps pretty high. does it idle at around 20-30c? if you have a silent fan profile it could be running the fans slower and letting temps get higher.

I turned on VSync but it still has a high temperature. What puzzles me the most is that only when I get on the map does the temperature jump from 48 to 78/80 or more. Thank you for your help.

It is only the graphics card that jumps from 45/48 to 78/80 or higher, the processor temperature remains the same (around 40 / 42ºC). In the other games I have this doesn't happen (GTA V, Assassin's Creed Odissey and Origin for example). Thank you for your help.

Then that is 100% normal.

I actually just tested it. my CPU holds around 40C.

my GPU goes from 48C in the menu to 76C in about 3-5 minutes. depending on where you look and your graphics settings, it will jump up faster based on GPU utilization.

It just depends on the game. Tropico 6 has a lot of entities that it is constantly having to handle.

I could upload a clip and show you my settings if youd like
