Buildings snap to grid
In the gameplay video it seems you cannot place buildings freely, everything snaps to a grid, building curved roads is pointless since it wastes alot of space and you can't even rotate your buildings properly so it fits properly along the road.

That was a major issue for me in Tropico 5 since building structures along curved roads would leave ugly gaps that I couldn't fill with trees. I liked that in Tropico 4 even if buildings where close together you could still fit trees and benches in between, it made my cities look greener and more beautiful.

I think in Tropico 6 there should be an option while placing a building to place it along a grid or freely and same thing with the rotation.

Also, there should not only be the 1x1 size trees and gardens like in Tropico 5, there should also be the smaller ones to place freely from Tropico 4 & 3.

You should also be able to paint the terrain, because when I leave gaps in between two buildings there would be grass which looked ugly.

The grid placement, I think thats for children and lazy people who are unable to place buildings themselves.

I agree. I think a landscaping tool, which lets you 'paint' areas with natural trees, would be great. It would essentially let you place trees in gaps and regrow areas of trees lost when shacks build over them.

Yes, the rigid grid system, along with the completely flat building surfaces don't look very appealing. Shame that this bad legacy from Tropico 5 seems set to remain. Already in the gameplay video it can be seen that it forces the player to create the same rectangular structures of the city as in Tropico 5.
