Picking up loot

I defeated a knight and I saw that he dropped a shield and steel greaves.
I could pick up the shield, but I couldn't pick up the steel greaves:
See the steel greaves lying on the floor
Here's the location on the map
How can I pick up the steel greaves?
Or ain't I supposed to pick them up?

You can hold the right mouse button to look around them click on it. The game says there is a shortcut but I couldn't figure it out.

Hey cool, that works!
I always thought while looking around with the right mouse I couldn't do anything else.
But in fact picking up while looking really works fine.

Exactly, you can pick up an item while looking around.
Or you can press space, it works too :-)
