Drop to desktop, when playing vs. bots (Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit)

Hello everybody,

everytime my game "crashes" (without any visible error), when I try to host or join a game vs. bots. Game starts, firends can join when I host, I can go commander. But after a while (between 1 and 15 minutes) the game just drops to desktop.

Is there a crash log or other protocol file to have a look at? Didn't find one in the game directory. Have "ulimit -c unlimited" but no core dump is created in the game directory.

Someone else experiencing this issue?

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit (up2date) with nVidia 670 and proprietary drivers. Game files already verified, locale is de_DE.UTF-8 but ingame all settings are set to english. Also tried en_US, but it makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Everybody else using proprietary nvidia drivers and ubuntu experience the same.

Same with proprietary nvidia and gentoo. Yuck :(
