don't inform the fact that Nina is armed, but tell other facts so that she gets arrested
She only gets shot because Symes thinks he should tell the cops to be aggressive when arresting the person with ptsd, bit of a stupid move that I wish we could advise him against. In a way the game proves a point through this, you have to tamper with the truth to protect Symes from his own bad decision.
Some optional data chunks affect gameplay, however -- and in some cases you only have a limited amount of time to report them. Fortunately, they tend to be pretty obvious and give a decent amount of time.
Holy crap that indicates that the "system" in the game is mentally retarded.
Or its police forces are incredibly aggressive, and have no qualms about simply gunning down suspects.
I guess this takes place in the kind of society where the cops go full-on aggressive without issue - which isn't really expected since apart from secret stuff like Orwell, the place doesn't seem like the type where this would happen (seems more like something from one of the neighboring countries).
But that could be my mistaken interpretation of how they do things in The Nation. If the cops there were more like the cops in most modern Western nations then giving them a heads-up would make them very cautious, which would mean lots of troops with guns drawn - but not trigger happy as such. Come to think of it, these types of police squads (SWAT-analogues) would treat the situation the same and assume a suspect such as this was potentially armed, even without extra intel suggesting this.
i prefer letting her escape so she doesn't get to shoot at police. avoiding violence, heh
