Hello, I’m the developer behind Ebbtide.

Ebbtide has reached 15,000 wishlists. I never expected this much interest. To everyone who has been following development, and everyone who has just discovered the game, thank you so much.

Ebbtide is a survival strategy game about staying alive in a world overrun by zombies. Command your forces on the operations map, dive into the battlefield to fight yourself. build forward operating bases, and hold back the hordes with support from land, sea, and air.

From now on, I’ll keep sharing development updates here. I’ll show you new units and battlefields, along with what’s changing. When a playtest is ready, you’ll hear about it here first.


At first, I tried to make every part of Ebbtide myself. I used AI to help with assets I couldn’t manage on my own.

I want to be specific about where I used it. As mentioned on the Steam page, I used AI in creating the soundtrack, some prerecorded voice lines, sound effects and ambient audio, event illustrations, and in creating or refining some 3D models. I also used AI to help translate the in-game text. No content is generated with AI during gameplay. Without that help, it would have been difficult to bring Ebbtide to where it is today on my own. I’ve reviewed and refined this work to make it fit naturally into the game, but there are still areas that need improvement, particularly the voices and translations.

Then I opened the Discord server. At first, I was overwhelmed by all the interest and messages, but the people who helped manage the community made it possible for me to keep up. I’m sincerely grateful to the admin team for all their help.

Talking with so many of you has made me more aware of the limits of what I can do alone. At the same time, it has opened up possibilities I hadn’t considered. Some of you offered to help directly, and one of them suggested a way for the community to take part in making the game.

So I’d like to start by reworking voice recording and localization. Together with contributors, I’ll work on improving awkward voices and wording, one piece at a time. If the opportunity arises, I’d also like to collaborate with musicians on a new soundtrack.

There’s still a lot for me to learn and improve. As development continues, I’ll keep listening to your feedback and sharing the changes here.
