The Bus

The Bus

Realism vs OMSI 2
How does it compare in terms of realism (not graphics ;) ) to omsi 2? Driving physics and so on

Better, than Omsi 2. The graphics are so really perfect. It's have a high-detailed graphics on 1:1 scale, which needs a strong PC to play így but in Update 1.11 the game has got a lots of optimization updates, so it runs a lot better. The Bus is the most realistic game what I've played ever, so it's a lot better than Omsi 2. I can recommend to drive with Steering Wheel, it makes the game more realistic because of the driving physics.
NOTE: The Bus is an Early Access game, so it could have some bugs, crashes, freezes, optimization problems, and so on until it's Work In Progress. We're in a Phase 1., and if you saw the last DevUpdate, then you could hear that, we'll get a lots of good things in this year as you heard it in the video, but these feature's release date could change. We'll get more buses, lines, more accessable parts of Berlin in the game, and more features of course.

You can follow the development on the Trello page: https://trello.com/b/kGhFZOke/the-bus-early-access-roadmap

The driving physics and sounds are not at all as good as OMSI 2, those guys really got it right, not a single modern bus "simulator" feels like a simulator and their sounds are really , really crappy. Sorry to say it but we have little choice , it's either an early access buggy mess like The Bus or an old sim like OMSI.

I think OMSI 2 is much more realistic sim in many terms at this moment. The bus looks like a arcade game for a console.

Are you stoned? OSMI 2 has graphics from 2006, looks like an old Nintendo 64 game. No shadows, no reflections, garbage outdated lighting effects. The Bus looks photorealistic by comparison.

The essence is not in graphics. Firstly It is simulator aspect. Cleary in terms of driving as a transport vehicle ( realistic physics, matching sound of different mechanical parts while driving). In terms of simulating- the life of bus depot where you can spawn a lot of buses, the possibility to chose a huge verity of rolling stock for routs. Freedom in moding - in OMSI 2 you can create any replica of the real bus, and some buses are real virtual technical masterpieces.

In all this core realistic aspects 'The Bus" looks very poor and limited game comparing with OMSI 2.

The graphics is mostly for schoolboys )

OMSI 2 has A.I. buses........this doesn't, so you are left driving around on your own. It kills the game immersion and makes Omsi the better choice.

The whole game of OMSI is Ai driven except by your own. So what is the difference to see an AI driven bus in Omsi or to see AI driven cars in The bus? Yes it will be cool to see more busses in The Bus, but it is no game changer.

It's supposed to be a bus simulator, there should be A.I. buses driving around on routes, it creates immersion. It's just another half arsed game from TML and they seem to have no intention of improving it. It kills the immersion when you drive into an area that in real life would have several buses waiting but in game you are literally the only one there.

You should have noticed this game is Early Access. So what does it mean to you?

Check their roadmap page, AI buses are work in progress.

"No intention of improving it"? There are updates quite often, with improvements. It has come a long way from when I first tried it.

A.I. Buses should have been in the game from the start.

The game is in early access, what did you expect? It's been clear from the beginning that this was not the final release of the game yet.

I'd expect a game like that to be released with the basic expected features from day 1. A.I. buses in a Bus Simulator is a basic feature and they should have been there from day 1. The same applies to controller support which they still haven't added yet!

I'd rate it as 2nd best Bus simulator after OMSI. So far the best TML bus simulator and most realistic from TML studios.
