The developers worked on this update at a deficit and formally severed their relationship with Square Enix who ultimately screwed THEM on this which gave you what you had. They've publicly stated this is the end of THAT chapter and they're now focused on making the game free with continued support under their new found independence.

Did you even read the announcement of "major and final" update for Battlion. Where you gettin continued support from lol.

You're very, very wrong. They did a AMA on stream where they said it won't get anymore support or updates, they have no player retention plans and they are completely done with this game. They are moving on.
