Disabling controller vibration

My controller starts vibrating whenever I hit a target. How do I disable it? There is an option for it but it is greyed out for whatever reason.

I play with mouse and keyboard but my controller is always connected because I often use it for Rocket League. Disconnecting it every time I play would be a huge pain, there has to be a way to disable it.

More than one year down the line and the problem is still there. Devs, please fix this, the option is already there, why are we not allowed to access it? I even tried changing it in the actual config file, but the vibration is still there.

This is exactly what I tried. Even after disabling controller vibration in the config it still vibrates. It even shows up as disabled in the options menu. I also tried -nocontroller and -NOFORCEFEEDBACK launch options, but this did not help either.

Wait, so you want the devs to disable vibrate on the controller, even though you don`t use a controller, it`s just because you cant be arsed to unplug it?

Yes, and how exactly is that an unreasonable request? Why would I have to unplug my controller every time I want to play the game damaging the jack in the meantime when it is such a basic fix for the devs? It's a very simple problem a lot of players are facing and it is ignored for more than a year now, it does not make the devs look very good.

The option is literally greyed out in the settings screen, why the hell can't we turn off vibration?
Developers please sort this out, i'm trying the game for the first time and i cannot believe this is an issue.

I get it, the issue does not affect you, but that does not mean that it is okay for it to be in the game. This is a very simple fix and there is no way the game should have left early access without a fully functional options menu.

Been noticing quite a few updates for the game since my last post but still can't disable vibration, what's going on?
