BATTALION: Legacy

CoD 4 "Promod" was terrible and destroyed CoD. Why recreate it?
Promod stripped away a lot of things that made CoD fun and unique in order to please whiners who wanted people to play the way they demanded. The only reason why people played it was because it had "Pro" in the name and so people thought they were playing some superior version of the game. The only real CoD was the base game played the way Infinite Ward intended it to be played.

Because the game plays more like CoD 4 promod instead of CoD 2.

No it was called Promod because that was what the creator of the mod named it. Tournament community? In the age of online gaming noone actually physically goes to tournaments so they don't matter. Again, the real CoD 4 was the base game played the way the developers wanted, that is the game that people loved and sold millions of copies. Promod was something made to appeal to the people that got stomped on in Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament, and came to the CoD community and demanded they make a mod of CoD 4 that played more like Quake and Unreal but slowed WAY down so they could try to compete.
Dude you obviously never been to a lan tournement .. many of us have . Online is where you make a name for yourself. In person you win money and prove yourself not to be a hack

here are the 2 best teams in MW playing in the group stage of a european tournement and yes both teams are from North America and the traveled to Europe to play
guess what they are playing ProMod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlCi6ZWtvVM

tough the diffrence in numbers didnt realy had much to do with ''quality'' I think,it was about mindset and skill level.

a avg cod player playing vanilla cods doesnt cares about improving in skill(or not so much atleast) he just cares about getting kills, leveling up and unlocking new guns.
once theyre max level they often get bored and wait to buy the new CoD to restart the whole proces.

the type of player that played cod4 pro mod(and cod2 pam mod and cs1.6 and quake etc etc) are the type of players that want to measure themselfs against people with equal skill level (ish) and climb this skill levels.they dont care about ranks and leveling up.

You see these are two compeltly diffrent mindsets and skill levels that are not compareble.

doesnt has anything to do with quality just what you want in a game.

You obviously dont care about competitive gaming, and you probably dont like it to get stomped by a good player so hence why you will prefer vanilla cod4,wich is fine.

But people who want a challenge will obviously prefer pro mod.

But for some competetive gaming is important.and that number of people has been growing year by year.and indeed back then the crowds where smaller, the streams maybe had few thousand people watching.

but if you look now at LoL,HoN,CS GO who perform infront of thousands of people and 10s of millions of people following a single match sometimes..you can not deny that this is not a big market wich this game is trying to fight its way into by taking the elements players liked in the old competetive games.

This is obviously not a game for you,so theres no point for you to stay and try to bash cod4 pro mod scene further.

I care about competitive gaming, but what I don't care about is the so called "esports" scene which is just all kinds of nonsense.

I enjoy all kinds of competitive games like Quake Champions, Overwatch, Battlefield, TEKKEN 7, Escape From Tarkov, ARK, CS: GO. I just don't like it being shoehorned into some esports ready package that is made more for watchability than actual fun competition.

You're right, I've never been to a LAN tournament. There's no need to go to one. If you are into competitive gaming to win money it's the wrong motivation to have. It's not a way to make a stable income for anyone involved. Not players anyway. Certainly not legit ones.

Im gonna feed the troll but w/e

Sorry but Cod 4 non promod was garbage. It was just a casual games with stupid perks and kill streak rewards.

People made Battalion for competitive gaming in cod2/cod4. They dont give a sh*t about public casuals in this game. This game is made to be competitive.

What multiplayer FPS isn't made to be competitive? Perks and Kill streaks were what made competitive CoD 4 good and unique from CS:GO, Battlefield, Arma, RO/RS. Take those away and the game is inferior to those others.

Pandemic won the tourney the week before on a 4 week summer tour all expences paid..they were barely shaving and rob wiz was 16ish...those are some of the best gamers in the world and some of them Wombat and Wiseguy for over a decade having both been top of every game they played from quake 2 until they retired at he end of the millon dollar painkiller tournement where they both made over 24 thousand dollars in a summer. yep noobs lol paid there way though college playing games total trash

Oh wait youre an idiot who doesnt know what a set nade is or its purpose lol

https://www.esportsearnings.com/players/1143-wombat-mark-larsen that guy has more articles written on him about gamming that you have posts on steam

Let me put it in a way you might understand

Those 2 teams were the New England Patriots of gaming for a decade. if they decided to play it they won quickly and often like 98% of thier matches

Hate to break it to you bud but the pro gaming and esports scenes are rigged and full of institutionalized cheating. It's cheaper and easier to just get 5 scrubs and give them wallhacks and aimbots and let them have at it than it is to actually pay good players to play, so that's what the western esports "scene" does. All these tournaments and earnings you see are completely made up and the players all sign NDAs about it. The only people making money from it are the publishers who make the games, that's why the biggest esports events are all organized by them. And it takes a lot of money to run these things off of pure hype. That's money Bulkhead doesn't have and so there will be no esports scene for Battalion 1944. Unless Square Enix is gonna run it and I don't see that happening after Brammer drops this on them.
