Crosstalk is an electronic design automation suite. It supports schematic creation, printed circuit board design, datasheet analysis, symbol, footprint, and STEP generation, simulation, and fabrication export.

It comes to Steam in the form of a physically and structurally realistic PCB city builder with two game modes. Players will be able to play solo or with others.

It started as a command-line utility called sexy (as in: s-expression) to display netlists in an easy-to-understand manner, then received the ability to read existing PCB designs. At that point, it made sense to let it construct bills of materials and prices. With these features in, we found ourselves using it a lot, especially for netlists.

Nearly every day, we use tools that are the current industry standard to design PCBs. However, most of these tools come split up, each paid for separately, most commonly across several discrete vendors, so getting an EDA tool with PDN analysis, simulation, and calculators is very expensive. Given this and the fact that we were building a small in-house circuit analysis utility, it suddenly became obvious to put in the time to develop it into something more complete. The result of that is Crosstalk.

Beyond the initial PCB city builder, we have three additional discrete game modes planned and in development. In addition to play, we also plan to release Crosstalk EDA, the complete professional suite of tools needed to design circuits and PCBs. Lastly, we have a story mode idea in mind; however, this would be the last development item, should we manage to get to it. The narrative is mostly written, so it's a matter of production.
