Since When!?!?!

Just started a new profile to do a archer only challenge, and since when is there a frost troll on the way to bleakfalls barrow (right in front of it)!?!?!?

Using any mods? Or did you put off the main quest for a while?

I haven't ever seen a troll up around Bleakfalls Barrow, but then again I don't typically put off the main questline either. On the path up from Ivarsted to the Greybeards is a totally differnt matter.... I can't recall a time I haven't seen a Frost Troll around a specific point in the climb, even when head up at a low levels, such as lv6.

There isn't unless you're a high level or you have mods that change leveled lists, or once had mods that did that and residual files are still left over.

Yes, the high hrothgar frost troll is one of the few hand placed static enemies in the game. Probably meant to make sure player is a little more than a complete noob before continuing the main quest.

If you're running into a frost troll on the way to Bleak Falls Barrow, then you're either using mods, or you're taking the wrong path to get there. The path you SHOULD be taking starts just outside Riverwood's northern gate; you cross the river to reach it. That particular frost troll only appears if you're heading to High Hrothgar.

The Frost Troll on the way to High Hrothgar is avoidable by scaling the rocks to the left side just as he comes into view. As for the Bleak Falls troll you're encountering it could be that you've leveled up considerably more than when the quest is normally done or it's some mod. You might be able to find a rock outcropping or a point to climb onto that he can't and just finesse the thing as he runs away for cover. Drop down off the rock and repeat as needed.

Nevermind, i figured out why, i used a glitch at the start of the game to get lvl 100 stealth. Guess it has it's draw backs lol.

Like most locations in Skyrim, Bleak Falls Barrow enemies are determined by the player's level.
BFB frost troll spawn if you are level 18 or higher.

Yes, the glitch that involves Backstabbing either of the two npc's while in the cave lol.

Yep, a higher level will have a Troll rather than a wolf. Not a static encounter like the one on the Way to the Greybeards or outside Dawnstar but it replaces the wolf you normally encounter. In fact the wolves on the Throat of the World can also be replaced with Frost Trolls is you're a high level. I just went to the Greybeards with a character around 50 or so, I saw several frost trolls.

yeah, depending on your current level, you get either nothing, a troll, or a frost troll on the way up to BFB. There'll also be up to 2 frost trolls in the troll den inside the dungeon as well if you spawned a frost troll on the way up.

Dynamic spawning. If your level is high enough lower tier mobs will be replaced with higher tier ones in many areas, in fact in some areas there will be more mobs than there were previous (bleak falls barrow draugr are a good example).

In one area in bleak falls you can get either a low level draugr, a regular troll, or a frost troll instead, just depending on your level when you enter the dungeon.

I see that one quite a bit, at any level. I do know in the Creation kit it has an arrow based marker. I don't know what exactly that means. But I know its not consistent. If you do figure out why it spawns or not, I would be interested to know.

I know I see it LESS often coming from the other direction. Not on any quest and passing the Bandit watch tower TOWARDS riverwood.

I see it often coming FROM Riverwood while on the Golden Claw or Whatever that Farangar one is.

But its not an ALWAYs thing. So there is some variable.

I think it's about level 20 which spawns trolls in
