Black Screen after loading new saves
Hi, having issues with loading new save games since these new updates.

If I pick an older save it loads in fine with all my mods. While Im in that session I can save / autosave and reload any of these saves and they work fine. The issue comes when I start a new session (close Skyrim and reopen it) and then try to load any of these new saves. I just get a black screen with audio and Skyrim stops responding.

All my mods are OK, I have run loot and all looks fine, any that needed cleaning I've used SSEdit. I have tried different versions of SKSE to see if it makes a difference but no. I am currently on the latest one (1.6.318) however one thing I cannot get to work is the Engine Fix mod. If I enable part 1 the game doesn't launch and I get "RUN/Relocation.h(548):Failed to open file" issue. Yes I have the "Address Library for SKSE" mod installed but it makes no difference. The only way it launches OK is if I disable the "(Part 1) Engine Fixes" mod on Vortex.

Any Ideas. Kinda at my wits end. really don't want to take all mods off and start a new game if at all possible.

All DLL plugin mods need to be updated, Engine Fixes won't be getting a update as the creator
retired and those that picked it up don't have the time to do so.
Cleaning all mods might be a bad idea as not all are safe to clean.
If you are on the latest update you will want the latest SKSE and update USEP.
Or you can roll back the update with a guide like mine,

DLL plugins are mods with files with this file extension

.dll

I can say that I have the same problem and I DON'T HAVE any mods at all. I hope it will be fixed or someone knows way how to fix this... So I guess you can let your mods be, at least for now [Thanks for awesome update, Todd...]

Bethesda is working on a patch, but it will take some time for them to find the root cause.

You think they'd test this before releasing it.

Ok, looks like this is a universal issue and Bethesda will be making a fix. Guess I wont delete my saves and start new if people with vanilla games are also having the same problem.

Fingers crossed they fix it soon.

Yes, that is correct. This is a problem that seems to be common to a lot of people - even vanilla saves made prior to the update are not working. Bethesda is currently working on a fix for this, but there is currently no timeline for when it will be available. The best advice that can be given is, simply, if a person updated SSE or bought the Anniversary Edition, then they should just start a new game.
