If so, you may have left a file behind somewhere when uninstalling, or an ini file was edited and is incompatible.
What would I do? Backup saves, wipe, and reinstall will save you headaches and time.
So I'm really not sure what gives, but I never had those probs before.
At the start, it was really going well, was far into the "saints&seducers" quest (fairly good one, that, with lot's of new stuff). Saved. And now when loading it gets a black screen. It's weird because I *did* save and loaded before, and then everything went well.
Now, I can only load an much earlier save, *before* I started the saint&seducers quest, and right after I installed the new USSEP. So I think it's due to one of the two (or the combination of both).
Clearly, there seem to be some bugs that need to be ironed out.
Im using Vortex. i tried a lot of things with it, but i can't load any save ...
Is it due to the new USSEP, or because of the new DLC's/mods?
Right now Bethesda is working on it, at least is what they say.
I'll buy the AE when it's around 5 bucks. ;-)
This fixed the black screen issue for me. Easy fix as well.
Actually, Even if you don't upgrade to AE version. It was forcing on you with their new update whether you buy it or not. So the problem right now is as Jason said.
common to both the update and to AE, as they both use the new compiler. Bethesda is currently working on a fix for this, but there is currently no timeline for when it will be available. The best advice that can be given is, simply, if a person updated SSE or bought the Anniversary Edition, then they should just start a new game.

There are some workarounds being batted about - but I think that the main one is to try a clean reinstall and start a new game:

And if that doesn't work, take the opportunity to try playing another game in your library that you've been thinking of playing for a while.
