Legacy of the Dragonborn New Game + 236 Mods. Won't Start Opening Carriage Ride. to begin the Game
I started a new game and I have 237 Total Mods and following the directions to install the "Legacy of the Dragonborn" Mod last. I made sure all my Mods are up to date current, i religiously used LOOT to check for the Load Order on them and correct any Conflict issues. I finally got done after 4 Months of planning this of what Mods I wanted in my New Game, I followed all the directions about the Legacy Mod. I started the Game last week and I can only get to the opening screen to then select NEW GAME and then it goes Black and then kicks me all the way out, back to my Profile Page in Vortex. Anyone have any ideas about this? I've tried and looked in the Legacy Support areas and really didn't find anything about this, I am not even sure it has anything to do with the Legacy Mod. I made sure and I used LOOT religiously and correct any and all issues and errors and it's clean before the last Mod install of Legacy. I am not sure what is preventing my New Game from starting. Anyone's thoughts" ? Thank You in advance.

ZeroCool, no disrespect intended, but do you even have any real experience modding? Because from what you have posted, it seems like you are really just starting out. And I say this even after seeing that you have 1600 hours played in SSE, and that in previous posts you have talked about modding the game (and that you were even referred to guides on how to do so by Vlad back in 2022), but it appears that you are missing some understandings of (or at least need to go back and review) many of the basic principles and techniques necessary to be successful at creating a stable, CTD free build. (And though all the help being posted here is very good, if you do not properly understand the fundamentals, it will all be of little or no help.)

I would STRONGLY suggest that you review the basics once again by reading this - it has links to everything you need to get a modded game up and running:

HOWEVER - what you posted here shows that you are aware of some of the basics:

So here is a thought, should I just DISABLE all the Mods in my new game except for Legacy and SKSE ( I mean just only what Legacy Requires to play) then try to play that and IF the Game turns on to play, then I can add a few Mods a day or week? Your Thoughts?

That is precisely how you should have approached it from the start - just have the very fewest necessary mods installed - check if it works, and then proceed to add more in - checking constantly to ensure that there are no issues.

Like I said, I apologize if it seems that I am being harsh - but frankly, I would rather you think me a nasty SOB and have you get your game up and running properly, then be though of as a nice guy, and your game still does not work - LOL!

Good luck!

That sucks.
No advice to give, because 200+ is too many mods for anyone except you to debug.

Well apart from suggesting you do a clean reinstall, then add mods in reasonable sized batch, checking that the game works at regular intevals....

You didn't mention using Live Another Life (or a similar mod), which is must have for a heavily modded game, especially if you use alot of scripts.

This is because even if you want to use the vanilla opening (which I typically do), the game needs time to load your mods in a quiet cell without also trying to get bogged down with the scripted wagon ride.

Also if you use a mod like Helgen Reborn don't use the regular start it will cause severe issues

Upload your modlist and plugin to loadorderlibrary.com so others can have a look on it.

You said you take 4 months to do it. You might have some mod that isn't compatible with current 1170 version and it require update.

Check if there is any mod requires update, update it and tell us the result.

I don't use Helgan Reborn because it overburdens my script load upon first entering Whiterun, but when combined with Live Another Life I never had an issue with the opening.

After a certain point you just gotta accept that the vanilla start is borked and install some sort of alternate start mod. I like Helgen Express, myself, but it's worth shopping around.
Cart ride's really long anyway.

I just started my fourth play about a month ago. I deleted the game, reinstalled the game (including all the CC mods). lnstalled Nexus mod manager (first time), added skse64 fixes/patches. Did a quick start test. Installed Legacy, added Quality Map, tested. added convenient horses, tested. Then began playing. Ive added a couple of minor mods since, the one major mod which has fixed some random ctds (SSE Engine Fixes). I would say start fresh and slow build your mod order. I tried LoD because i was so tired of dealing with manequin and weapon rack bugs, had no idea how big or expansive the LoD really was until I got into it. Theres a lot of stuff that they changed, which is bound to tangle with somethings in your modlist.

we can't troubleshoot "LOTD + 237 mods" post your entire load order.

That does not remove mods by the way....

Nope a bug standard uninstall only removes the game I'm not even sure if it removes CC content

It does, since it removes everything it installed, but it cannot uninstall any third-party content like mods which it has no knowledge of. Therefore, it is advised to completely delete everything related to Skyrim, aside from the saves, of course. This includes the entire Skyrim folder and the game config files.

Where do I find my Mod List in File Manager? I can do screenshots of all my Mods in my New Game?

In Mod Organiser 2 it should be something like C:\Users\<username here>\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim Special Edition\profiles\<profile name here> and be called modlist.txt and loadorder.txt

just checking but are you not using a mod manager? You shouldn't be using the base game's file handling for mods, especially not when you go over a half dozen or so because it will screw up your load order (it doesn't matter if you installed LOTD first or last, your load order will be messed up if you don't use a mod organiser)

Mod Organiser 2 is the best one, Vortex is alright.
