"Battle for Whiterun" quest won't end.
I play this game for the 1st time. Sadly there is a bug preventing me from playing the game peacefully.
after I finished the battle and entered the castle I beaten the Jarl and next he's just standiong there. The Gray-guy enters the castle but he won't move towards the Jarl. the quest is "accept Jarl's surrender, but he just keep saying "give me few hours". I already waited like 70 hours (in game time of course) and he won't move from there. I tried to go far away and it wrote me "Failed" and gave me the next pin. Though I still went to urlaff and finished the mission, the Whiterun icon won't appear, and the battle music won't stop playing while random soldiers keep following me around like I'm still in the mid of the mission. I just wanna keep playing the game but it's a bit hard when you hear battle music all the time and not having whiterun on the map.
I tried waiting, I tried commands, I tried everything but it won't change anything. Also I forgot how bad the autosave mechanic is in this game, so the noly save I can enter before I started the mission was like 2 days ago which I progressed a lot since then.
Please I tried every solution people wrote on forums, every stupid command people want me to write, yet nothing helps.
I really need you!

See: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Battle_for_Whiterun_(Stormcloaks) Bugs Section (at bottom of page)

Specifically, the last listed bug:
"Upon completion of the quest when you are asked to return to Ulfric, it may not let you continue, and the normal dialogue will appear. In addition, the fast-travel markers will be disabled and the battle music may still be running.
- If not in or near Whiterun, fast-travel to Pelagia Farm and walk into the city from there.
- If the battle music is still running, go to Dragonsreach and wait until it completes. The completion of the battle music also completes the Battle for Whiterun quest properly and solves most issues with the Civil War questline.
- If Whiterun's markers are still disabled, walk back out of the city gates, following the path towards the stables until the markers reappear.
- Travelling to the Stormcloak camp outside of Whiterun may also resolve the issue.
- Ralof may be running on the spot in the camp, downing him and reloading the save fixes this issue."

Good luck!

Yea keep in mind that the civil war questline is one of the buggiest in the game

The music won't stop. 30 mins standing here in dragonreach doing nothing. The music continues and Ralof follows me with the weapon in his hand. Won't show any dialogue. Music goes in loops. Also he won't stay in the camp.

*Manage to get ralof down but the music just keep looping and whiterun isn't yet on the map.
*Completely reinstalled. didn't work too
I already tried all you wrote before I wrote this message. So I guess my whole save just died since no one know another way...

Let this be a lesson..... DON'T rely on auto saves.

Always hardsave before you do something important.

Really sorry I had high expectations from such a positively rated game and didn't expect any bugs from it. =_=

Really wanna keep playing it but too tilted now to restart 4 hours from where I stopped...

Hey op, I'd suggest you get a couple mods that fix issues like this. The biggest being the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.

Really???
Guess you didn't read any reviews for this game, even the best ones I've seen state bethesda games are always full of bugs. As everybody has been saying for decades.

I hear your frustration.

The unofficial patch someone said may help. Please do not let the bugs kill the game for you because it really is a fantastic experience.

Like with all games I make my own type of roles up within them and Skyrim just has so much opportunity to play as you wish to play whether you take on the many quests or go independent adventuring making your own quests up.

Whether you start from beginning or your last hard save you still learned something that may help your decisions on your next playing.

Sometimes it helps to beat the appropriate essential NPC to a crawl with your fist. Really. When they get up, it might trigger their correct action.

Skyrim can be weird :)

Everyone, I wanna thank you for trying to help. I managed to stop the music and made whiterun reappear. I took a lot of fast travel, but it worked in the end and that's what matters!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!

please write a guide on this.
Was it just clicking a lot on the big map to fast travel or more to it than that?
