Question about creation kit....

Is there any patch to run creation kit to be compatible with older version of skyrim such as version 1.6.640.0?

Was looking for one at nexus without any luck.

Not unless you have a prior version of the CK backed up on your system. Only the current game version is supported (whatever the current version may happen to be - 1.6.1170 being the present current version).

Nothing solid yet, but the Creation Kit may support 1.6.640. I have not been able to test it, as I'm on 1.6.1130. Be sure to install the Creation Kit Platform Extended. In the top bar you will then see if a mod is ESL capable, and the remaining amount of records that can be added to the mod. For a 1.6.1130/1170 the maximum number of records is 4096, but for 1.6.640 the maximum number of records is 2048. Below 2048 record, the CK still says the mod is ESL capable, but that will not be the case for 1.6.640. There is also an issue about records in the 0x800 range. Version 1.6.640 supports that range, but 1.6.1130+ doesn't.

Just like the game itself, CK can also be downgraded, you just need to have the depot of the desired version, this is the depot ID of the last CK before 1.6.1130 update:

CreationKit.exe:
download_depot 1946180 1946182 5099162879680505807

Everything else (Papyrus Compiler, archiver, havok tool, etc):
download_depot 1946180 1946183 1633303557398589581

Once downloaded, move everything to the Skyrim folder (creationkit.exe and skyrimSE.exe should be in the same folder).
