WTF
So game updates - Paid mods are a thing, again - Breaks every mod and now your play through is probably scrap. RIP

Well - Now I won't buy any game from them. Or - I'll rip the game off after purchasing just to avoid this auto update garbage!! Mind you, if the path is paid mods as some weird way of micro transactions... I will consider a great dev a shat one from now on. Sad times

Just get the downgrader on Nexus, for now - so you can run your SKSE Stuff and any other older mods.

Was looking at that. "Downgrades all files from 1.6.1130.0 to 1.5.97.0". Works with new? Downloading now so we shall see if my 700+ mods work again, otherwise the legacy dies I guess

SSEDisplayTweaks and 30 other mods - Address problems - So downgrade patch doesn't work sadly. Mods will need a lot of work sadly. Unfortunately mod authors are unlikely to bother. So rip Skyrim - You had a good run

Getting skyrim going:

1) install game
2) start game
3) stop game, b/c remember all the crap you have to tweak
4) mess with .ini files for a whole night, b/c you can't adjust FOV or other things in-game
5) install Auto hotkey, b/c you can't remap certain keys
6) forget where you left your pre-canned script, so spend an evening looking up how to make AHK scripts to remake your remapping script
7) fire up internal mod manager to reinstall the mods you faved
8) Bethesda.net doesn't like your login, so spend an evening trying to get Skyrim re-logged into Bethesda.net to get teh mods you faved
8) download external mod manager
9) install a bunch of mods, and try to make sure you get the reqs correct or else you can break something
10) Ok, now that you have all that done.. download a downgrader, b/c latest patch messed everything up again
11) (five days later) you can finally enjoy the game... and don't DARE uninstall the game, or you'll be punished with having to go through all this again!

We must be serious gluttons for punishment.

If they rolled out patches that bolted on FOV slider, optimized game engine, etc along with the creation club and paid mods stuff, I'd be cool with that. But, they can't even be arsed to bake-in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch modders made. That's what irks me. Modders literally fix everything, and hand it over on a silver platter. And Bethesda can't even be arsed to bake it into the base game. Community shaders that optimize shaders. Fixed Parallax textures. Optimized cubic textures. Modders have fixed so much stuff, and Bethesda's like "nah, fam... we're just here to make sure the store-front works, and here's more $5 outfits." Like... good lord. Why do I keep hanging out with this game company when they clearly don't care about me as a customer.

Yeah bethesda just basically destroyed skyrim. skyrim is too buggy, unstable, incomplete for most people to even want to play without mods. Mod Authors were fixing MANY of bethesda's errors & short comings for FREE for YEARS and now bethesda just messed that all up.

Yup!! The reason why the company is so popular is because of individual creativity and free mod support. With out that, just call yourself cod

Yeah, some communication with the mod community would have been wise--but considering the source...it seems to be in line with most things Bethesda (or their peers/rivals) do these days. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

Several peeps I know keep backups of their installs for this sort of thing.

Enter into console in steam and it downloads to content folder on steam install folder. Copy to Skyrim folder and it will work, revert the update - Download crack so you never have this again and you are golden.

Can use symbolic links if download drive is full - But this is your only hope

Ouch. You know, if I ran a studio whose long-term success was largely dependent upon community development, I would probably make the time and effort to acknowledge and respect that fact with simple conversation--even if making money was our only goal.
I think it happened, I was going to correct everything again but I think not, I'll give endereal and other games that I have in the library a chance, what I don't understand is the people who applaud Bethesda's behavior, they have already started buying the garbage that they have put in their paid VIP area.
